If you're nuts you could always get the G&P buffer tube adapter for the Maruzen M870/M1100 and find a way to rig that on, as that also includes a little tank inside the buffer tube.

This guy right here: http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=9377

Should work, but I'd certainly expect some modifications required on the fitment and gas line side of things.

Fortunately for you and me, i'm not so nuts to do that, plus i'm really not into the M4/M16 style telescopic stock, but it's interesting to see it done.

I guess i'll just have to wait, however the issues with the gas tank gets any worse, i might just do my M1100 mod anyway, i find the pistol grip tank so much more sturdy and reassuring than the marui one or the G&P and the only difficulty will be the nozzle adapter and hose length.

While i'll usually balk at breaking up a perfectly good M1100 maruzen, frankly it hasn't seen much use as its not very practical skirmish wise. So might as well sacrifice it for a more noble cause then to hang in my gun closet....

Wastelander- a gas-operated, semi-auto APS shell shotgun feeding from Saiga magazines, and with interchangeable barrel length. Full build log here.

Couldn't be happier right now.

Build log is over in Project Suggestions if anyone's interested.

Alternatively, I'm like 90% certain you could simply get a normal Maruzen pistol grip and spare gas tank, and that way you'll have two fully functional guns if you decide to sell one.

Hell, even if you don't, you'll at least have gas tank compatibility, which is super cool.

My CA870 clone with RS parts:

Love the Pachmayr grip. How easy was it to mod? My dream airsoft shotgun has one.

Which reminds me. Are the CA870 clones actual CA870 clones in that they will accept the G&P aftermarket parts? Or do they just look like clones like a ton of the China shotguns.

I love it too, but it required extensive cutting.  The forend was even worse, and I'm not even going to keep it.

And yes to your second question.  In point of fact the G&P shotguns and the cheap Shun Yang models are both Maruzen clones; more info here.

If TM release a short barrel version like that and they (or someone after-market) comes out with an AR stock tube kit I'm all over this 870.  I think the numerous companies currently releasing extended magazine tubes are thinking in entirely the wrong direction, especially for a weapon that's about as specialised to CQB as they come.

Very Nice!

was it hard to remount the front sights?

Thanks!

Not at all. I just took measures (measure twice, drill once) and drilled the three holes again where I wanted them using a 2.0 Dremel drill for metal. Just be sure that you drill on the very top of the barrel.

The hole for the screw was made with the same drill bit and the screw itself was used to create the threads on the aluminium.
