Wastelander- a gas-operated, semi-auto APS shell shotgun feeding from Saiga magazines, and with interchangeable barrel length. Full build log here.

Couldn't be happier right now.

Build log is over in Project Suggestions if anyone's interested.

I looooove that m870 man great job! (Ardrummer)

Thanks man. It was a bear, but I'm glad it's complete. Next up is a TM-based top folder, which I should have done by this weekend.

For anyone interested in how I did the paint:

Base coat of Rustoleum camo, sand color (not khaki, looks too grey)

Thin stripes of Rustoleum primer, in “rusty metal” color

Acetone and paper towels, to remove some paint and blend lines

Thick stripes of Rustoleum camo, in OD, over loose netting

Liberal application of sniper’s tape on gripping surfaces

Very nice Vietnammarine! Always you pleasure to see one of these trenchguns, they're a rare sight nowadays :)

I like the Madbull shells a lot, they're very high quality, completely made of metal and easier to fill with gas, as they have a fixed valve on the side instead of the bottom, where the valve also fills the role of gas release point.

However, their metal construction also makes them heavier, so I reckon they'd not just "bounce off" the ground, it might be possible that they'd take more damage falling onto concrete for example. Using this gun in a game would be high risk and you'd use a shell catcher anyways, so this is more of a hint to collectors who fire it in their garden using Madbull shells :)

Regarding your pic: I guess the second from the top is a KTW M1873, the third from the top an Umarex/Legeds M1894 Cowboy rifle - what's the top one? Looks like a long version of the KTW with an octagon barrel...?

I have used my Trenchgun twice during Nam events, but like 10 years ago, then "a friend" broke the bolt by wrong handling without me knowing about.

Just last year I got her finaly back with new stainless steel bolt made by local tech.

As for lever action, you are right:
- top is KTW 1873 rifle with octagonal barrel in original set up.
- KTW 1873 carbine with gas set
- Umarex 1894
