not worthy of its own topic really.. so here goes, i recently sprayed my motorola razer with OD krylon... and the paint has began coming off really quickly indeed, so if i was to paint a gun, should i use a primer? a sealing coat at the end? or just accept that it comes off at a reasonable rate?

cheers!

Ryan-John,

Why did you bother?

Dirty,

More than likely it is something to do with the surface finish of the plastic.

Krylon on my CA was bullet proof.

If you want to end up with an effect like my M4 then do not primer it, just spray it on add-hoc. I've said this before, don't treat it as a medical procedure!

If you want a wall hanger, and by this I mean you hardly use it and maybe just for garden plinking and bedtime, then yes use primer since the gun will get very little wear and will stay pristine.

If you skirmish with it, it will not stay pristine no matter what paint you use it'll get chipped and worn.
