Nice pics. :)

Do you mind if I save them?

Took these today.

Note that the last two were taken at speed and are not exactly perfect.

BTW, I'm planning on getting a new camera instead of my old *suitcase* IXUS 40. I might go for something that's less pocketable but still compact.

Do you recon the LX3 would be a good choice? Or is there something else I should check out aswell?

Well there are a few cameras in the LX3 class like the g9 being talked about a few posts up.

I guess it comes down to what you want to get out of the camera.

I do like my lx3 a lot though :D

here's a few I took recently.

640x427 is plenty big enough.

Great photo btw :)

If you want it larger, you have to actually post a larger image.

If that's straight off the camera, then check the quality settings to see if there are any higher ones.

After doing some research, I've decided tog myself an LX3. I'm also fed up with photos always coming out too dark in low-light. :)

Here's some pics taken at a local "motorshow". There's many pics. ^^

*edit*

Actually, *fruitcage* it. I'll post a seperate thread to avoid cluttering this one.

Critique of Chris WPA's Baseball shots - Broke the Quote thing!

I take it this is a crop from a fullsized image? Or a Stich, it seems a bit wide for 35mm / 1.6x crop

The only thing I would say about this is its a bit over exposed- you can see alot cliping in the whites- best to expose a bit under IMO.

Not so much cliping here, still a bit... the only problem here is the lack of detail- it really shows that it is a crop. Also, did you use an aggressive noise reduction filter here?

Well exposed shot here, no clipping, I would drag the sutter just a tad more, its a bit too frozen here, looks like the guy just just about to fall over :P.

Again, a bit too much of a crop here, lack of detail, maybe again dude to agressive NR?

Like above, lack of detail, emphasised by the clipping of the whites, bit too over exposed.

Thanks I appreciate it!

Every pic was highly cropped due to me using a 105mm macro lens, but it was first time I ever really shot anything moving, so I was actually extremely confused and didnt know what settings to use and when I put on shutter priority mode to hopefully help, pics wernt clear, so I just used sport mode (one of those newb mode things) because that turned out best, but I had to manual focus and its kinda hard when your using a macro lens.

Hmm yeah I think I heard that somewhere, but its so confusing for me since when I check my shutter speed in my d40s screen it dosnt say 1/300 a sec, so I always never know what its at, I just do shutter priority and guess then shoot and change untill it looks good.

Haha sweet pic :P

Thanks.

Was actually worried a while that my presence so close to the nest would drive the parents away, but Pied Flycatchers are persistent birds.

The mother even watched me as I was taking the pic.
