AnakChan
@anakchan Sorry, that's what I meant, the mag pipe. So, say if you want to start using the original sopmod caps, do you just get tweezers and just yank it out of the feed port and just put it back in when you want to use regular aeg mags? How do you put it in there in the first place? Woops, not seen one of these yet? Have a look at this post :- http://www.tkoverkill.com/showthread.php?tid=618&pid=5970#pid5970 As you can see you just plug it into the BB feed of the hop-up chamber. You just use an allen key to remove them. I don't recommend using pliers or tweezers as you don't wanna damage where the BB feeds in. About modding a real PMag for the Sopmod magazine, here are some pix from Echigoya - mind you they're not cheap at more than USD$100/mag but believe it or not, they sold out here!! Sorry, taken with my iPhone :- 1) sanding down the internal mag 2) Before/After of PMag cut 3) Marking where needs to be cut 4) Shove it in
stewpidbear
I take it that this mod only works with rs mags and not pts mags?
AnakChan
That's correct.

akiraspeedstar
Is the piston upside down?
TK4235
I spy with my little eye..... lol
TK4235
Kenny... am Diggin that DD rail... is that the 9inch lite rail? Looks almost like the RECCE rifle Batteries seem a perfect fit... I'll have to keep those in mind when I slap the rail onto the SOCOM too...
weekenny
Yeah thats the 9" lite. the Recce is a 10" so its close. Batteries slide in easy without being loose enough to fall out. Rail covers are not normally my bag but they help protect the lipo. The batteries are cheap too and 1450mah so should fingers crossed last a day but I'll grab a spare since they fit so well. Really the best solution I think I've had peq batteries before and they were a pain.
TK4235
I've just realised I have a VLTOR flip of sight/gas block.... that may prevent me putting batteries into the rail...... what a PITA that could be.... The last thing I want to use is a PEQ as I just don't like em..... Edited December 9, 2011 by TK4235
weekenny
Yeah it will, either get some flip ups ( I went Troy) or fit the battery with the balance lead sticking out one of the holes (for charging) then fit the sight block.
weekenny
Also make sure and get barrel nut shims for fitting it.
Richard Y
Is the piston upside down? lol yeah ... upside down. Bit of a mess up by the previous tech, just thought it was funny. I mean we all make mistakes but its a pretty funny one, no harm done though.
Megalomaniac
Is that a prommy hard piston that is in upside down?
akiraspeedstar
The last thing I want to use is a PEQ as I just don't like em..... Hey now, PEQ15s are nice pieces haha I just hate when people use them and do these ugly wiring jobs. If they took the time they could make it so you dont even see a single wire, but everyone does this lazy job.
TK4235
Akira on reflection ... well I suppose the AN/PEQ15 does look pretty cool with the laser and the LEDS, but does it take a normal LIPO battery? Kenny the Troy battle sights do look good.... you know that baby needs a Surefire M900/M910 Vertical grip weapons light Edited December 9, 2011 by TK4235
Richard Y
Is that a prommy hard piston that is in upside down? yuP!! Dont talk to me about ugly wiring jobs we get it daily, one had speaker wiring coming out of the front socom handguard which had been drilled and then taped down the outside of the gun and then into a battery bag on the stock, straped to it.. Its enough to make you cry. Im like how about a nice neat ris battery solution, or 1500 lipo in the handgaurd.. no i want to run the battery bag so i have to rear wire the socom to a deans hanging out the back with a battery bag.. its like you can make such a neat and tidy job and theres some players stuck in wierd wierd ways and all your trying to do is give them the best solution. weekenny
Kenny the Troy battle sights do look good.... you know that baby needs a Surefire M900/M910 Vertical grip weapons light Gah no! Hate those grip light combos. Have a tactical flashlight with angle mount but it was shot out last game Think a 552 is on the cards
akiraspeedstar
My friend has a peq15 with a lipo inside, I think I could fit one into mine and it has a laser and light.
weekenny
I have two peq15's one with a laser, neither have a torch. I doubt you'd get a decent mah lipo in one with a decent torch and laser.
TK4235
Thought as much... oh well seems as though i'll have to get some Troy battle sights then.... Kenny... what's stopping your batteries sliding out the front then? Edited December 10, 2011 by TK4235
weekenny
Once the wiring and plug are in they keep the rest in place. So they slide in easy but can be a fiddle to get out.
zaimon
the avocado mosfet (programmable round burst) works well. i match it with 7.4 lipo battery with SURUS. 3 round burst fire with heavy weight recoil unit SURUS is a bad a$$. lol Edited December 12, 2011 by zaimon
Spydey
Got my first SOPMOD in today. Pretty excited about it so far... The recoil is deffinitely a nice change from normal AEGs. Externals arent quite where I would want them but I guess thats not anything to bad considering the things that are awesome about this gun.
akiraspeedstar
Put in a Eagle6 hard recoil spring and you'll love it even more haha. Out of curiosity, what issues do you have with he externals? I believe its very good in comparison to other brands.
