uscmCorps
so chris uses the SR16 with no ambi controls? I thought I saw on a picture he had an ambi safety, but maybe i'm just crazy, it's not like I don't sit there staring at his rifle figuring every part of his rifle out... I also swore he had a magpul lower reciever The beauty of RS parts is that ambi controls can be used with ease. A default AEG SR16 generally, doesn't have ambi controls. Costa's SR16 does have an ambi selector (as does my SR16 GBB). His ambi bolt release appears to be a unique device being developed by Magpul. Not sure about the mag release... I'll have to check the DVD again for that.
Reincarnation...
UscmCorps is correct about the ambi bolt release. It is dubbed as the B.A.D. No really use in airsoft unless you have an aeg that has a working and functional bolt release, such as ptw, tm m4 sopmod, etc.

No really use in airsoft unless you have an aeg that has a working and functional bolt release, such as ptw, tm m4 sopmod, etc. I think it would also be useful for anyone using GBB M4s. The overall functions on a GBB M4 is much more similar to a RS AR than any AEG. The Battery Assist Device would be very helpful for a GBB AR. Regarding the lower receiver, I just reconfirmed that Costa uses a SR16 upper and lower. In some interviews on the DVDs you can tell he's since changed the receiver to a Magpul one, but he's also changed the overall layout of the gun too and it no longer looks anything like the Costa gun that I'm trying to replicate. Also, I don't believe the Magpul PTS lower receiver is compatible with ambi selector controls which is (as of this posting) still exclusive to the VFC platform (although a few AEG's like the TopTech and new TM M4s appear to have the potential of that functionality). Yea, I keep forgetting about those as I have Escort GBB on the mind. The Battery Assist Device is well one badas*, inventive idea to ARs
talon_0315
simple, "magpul esque" blaster. Make that all black, swap out the front sight for a railed gas block so I can use Troy sights, and that's exactly what I want. Nice set-up.
aznriptide859
Hey very curious about something - how are QD barrel-mounted M203's mounted in the rear to the outer barrel? I want to be able to swap my M4 from a grenadier role to a carbine role - is the rear section also allowable for M203 QD attachment/detachment? Thanks
masakarijoe
just like a normal M203. they wrap around the barrel. you slide the m203 down to the delta ring, and then fasten the QD front piece. i can remove and attatch my G&P QD M203 on my M16A4 in 30 seconds or so. -Joe
aznriptide859
Wait, slide? 0_0 Is it like "snapped" on the outer barrel, slided back, then the front QD mount is affixed? And will this fit a DD Mk18 RIS II, where the lower half is removable?
QDRenegade
Anyone have any pictures of the G&P Slim Rail Covers on an M4 (or variant) or know if they look anything like Magpul's Ladder-style rail covers when on a gun? I've got an identical set made by another company though G&P seems to merely rename gear. I love them more than the my original Magpul rail covers and XTM panels. They're so comfortable in addition to how well the Predator fits in my hand. Buddy has since put my extra on his AEG over the real Magpul gear too. Chock this up as one of the few instances I prefer airsoft stuff over real steel plastic. Granted, I don't know how the would hold up to a smoking barrel... Also, feel free to take a knife to them to make them the perfect length. Anyhow... as requested: These are one of a few parts I have not replaced and do not intend to. If you would like more photos, you can see em all here. Cheers. Edited February 23, 2009 by QDRenegade
Rambo Kid
Okay, thanks for all of your help uscmCorps and others. I think I will put the Costa project on hold and save that for a later date and start with a VFC SR16. Until then, are there any other guns (preferably Costa or Haley) that I can replicate accurately with an M4 without having to buy any front sets, etc.? Thanks!
evansy
More sexy magpulness I'm not a fan of the FG colour so I'm going to get the Krylon out and paint it OD to match the rest of the bits. All I need now are a few Pmags and I'm sorted.

Robinio
I'm Thinking of building an Airforce GUU-5P with "Modern" inspiration of a spotter in a Sniper team It will include ACOG, PEQ, M203, And RIS of course. as Said its going to be "Modern" and maybe I'll do an oldskool later. EDIT: will this fit my CA M15A4 sportline? http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airs...il?prodID=23024 Edited February 23, 2009 by Robinio
Spartan452
I think harley's gun uses a normal kac ris with 11.5 barrel, his rifle would be the easiest to imitate...

evansy
Its a negative thread (hence the - after mm) like standard TM's use so counter clockwise or left to tighten. Edited February 23, 2009 by evansy
