LCT Airsoft e-mailed me to let me knwo they'd posted me an AKM to review on the website.

I was a bit amazed, then I checked the receipt to see it had been delivered - to a P Monaf.

So one thing you will be seeing in AI that you won't here is a LCT AKM review! :D

Seriously though, I have seen Airsoft Soldier (an EU magazine), and I have been very impressed by the quality of that magazine. It is what the likes of Safezone and AI should have aspired / should aspire to be - a focus on airsofting and quality content, rather than advertisements with a few articles (on something typically covered by one of the big airsofting forums a month or so previously) embedded.

I appreciate all magazines require commercial support to work, but surely they need an actual significant readership also?

Switched to Airsoft Soldier when it launched, as it's a much more mature publication in every sense... The English is a little curiously worded sometimes due to the translations (probably?), but well worth a good read. :)

AI seemed to be turning into a copy & paste exercise from th'internet last time I read it - they didn't even seem overly bothered about "personalising" it to Airsoft... I seem to recall an article that had reference to deer, or something half way through. Goes beyond lazy, IMHO <_<

I stopped 5-6months ago. I had hoped AI would pan out better then it did. The whole "USA" edittion was a let down. Besides like 1-2 advertisements, nothing was geared towards the USA. The magazine should have never been called Airsoft International when all it did was cover airsoft in the UK. The magazine was always 1-2 months behind here. How hard could it be for them to have it printed here as well, that way there wasnt over a month delay?! Any news or articles are all info I could have just as easily read here with more user input, and a better gathering of facts.

The Mighty Monaf is too mighty to consider specialising its magazine for different markets. What the Monaf wants, you will get, and like it! :D

To be honest, the Monafs attitude towards its readers is what turned me off the magazine. I wont be buying it till the Monaf has gone...which will be a LONG time!

I dont waste my money on it anymore, its full of false information and reviews that appear to be written by an airsoft n00b!. the only reason i bought my last one was because i was in it. :D

i cant remember the name of that free online one but i find that to be far better written so i stick to that for the time being. Airsoft soldier is a bit rare here at the moment so I havent had the chance to pick that up yet.

After that god awfull ad for airsoftessex featuring the growler in a santa outfit i am never wasting my cash on AI again!

 That made me laugh so much! So true!!

Yeah, I haven't bought A.I. since early last year.

In the words of Nan Taylor from The Catherine Tate Show;

"What a load of old *suitcase*!"

Was in town the other week, and had a couple of hours to spare. Went into WH Smith to check out the guitar mags.

Spotted A.I., and picked it up to see what gun reviews it had in it. Came to my senses immediately, and bought Guitar Techniques instead.

Ben.

Dont buy it anymore after the KSK description was lifted straight from wikipedia word for word.

I wish I could get paid to type in KSK in wikipedia and the Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V onto my document, maybe do some google image search and away we go.

Might look into getting airsoft soldier.

I bought the latest one (i think it is the latest) to see how blatant the theft of someones review off another forum was (the author gave explicit instructions to AI that he did not want his work used, they sure listened to him) it was word for word, shocking that they make money from plagerism, I was going to contact the publisher to complain until i was informed Mr Monaf is also MD of the publishing firm, how handy :P

I cant even remember when I last bought it. I have the mag laying around somewhere in my room (mainly because I'm too lazy to tidy it away in the recycling bin) but I do remember only reading about 10% of the mag.

I do pick it up when I go to town and call in WH Smith but unless they were giving away free M4 hicaps I dont think I'd actually buy it.

I'd like to see more pictures and discriptions of gear by readers. People send them in, you pick the best of them, clean them up a bit if needed and then put it out there.

I'd also like to see some side by side comparisons or "out of the box" guns. Example: TM G17 vs KSC/KWA G17 vs HFC G17. It could be done in the same manner as the real steel gun magazines do theirs. You compare features, performance and price. You provide some decent pictures of each firearm and you rank them. You could have a winner, you could have 3 losers, but you have some difinative and informativce article thats worth sosmething.

I'd also like to see: TM MEU vs WE SOC MEU vs WA MEU. The combinations are endless.

I like the magazine, but the ads are taking over the articles. I realize you need to have the ads for the revenue, but I'm still looking for info in length, not little snippets!

I bought the latest issue and the first 7 pages are up side down, and are not even the correct pages. There the pages that should appear after page 8, so in fact the first 7 pages are missing and are duplicates of the 7 pages that come after. Might take a picture if I can stop my self from wanting to burn it, should have looked at the first few pages instead of going to the middle.

I used to read the NAM, however, they stopped production of their magazine last year without warning to those with subscriptions (automatic payment through PayPal).

Yeah, that's $8.00 I'll never get back. I'm sure others lost more, as I cancelled after that payment.

I haven't read AI, nor will I ever after reading these comments about them. They had also made a duplicate account on ASR of which they used to bash other magazines and give praise to their own. Pretty lame if you ask me.

I do, but only out of loyalty to my newsagents who gets it in specially for me. It's just full of goddamn adverts nowadays, little useful content, and that Local Loadouts bit is utter *fruitcage* *suitcase*. It's just a place for geardos from Ambush Adventures Longmoor to twirl their cocks about. Not seen anyones average skirmish loadout at all yet, but i've seen full freaking ACU...
