renegadecow
You cut into them by row like a saw with very small teeth. Then you do the opposite row and just go deeper and deeper from there. The industrial version is like a dremel with a specialized head doing the cutting, but still does it row by row. Not sure if there are CNC equivalents already.

DeltaZero
Question about these Matebas.. How skirmish able are they? Have the opportunity to get one at a reasonable price.. Any help would be appreciated! Â Â Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
renegadecow
Not very skirmishable at all. Took a lot of work to get mine shooting acceptably well at only 10m.
DeltaZero
What sort of work? I'd only want it for a close ranger backup so not too worried about range. More whether I can effectively use it and be badass at the same time! Â Â Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
-Drake-
Mine fires fine (decent range etc) but part of the grip has broken so it doesn't mate with the gun right. Its a design flaw so a common problem apparently...
DeltaZero
This one has a wood grip apparently and has another as spares and repairs. Think I might snap it up. They're awesome. Â Â Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
-Drake-
I seen that one for sale, I had asked if he'd sell the grip from the spare but its in the same condition as mine (the plastic plate on the inside that mates with the gas reservoir is what breaks) so sadly no solution for me =[ Â
DeltaZero
Shame. Fingers crossed it's still available and I can take it off his hands. If it's got a wood grip if would assume it won't have the problems with it breaking? Â Â Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
renegadecow
Wood grip should be fine. As for mods I had to: -replace inner barrel with one without that damned SSB hump -install a forward lock for the crane -adjust hand for timing  And long term fixes: -apply sealant in the base plate -replace bolt/cylinder catch spring -add material on sear which wore out to the point of not engaging DA properly -shim hammer axle as the off center axis wears it unevently -make a wooden grip as the plastic one dies eventually
DeltaZero
Excellent thanks for that RC I just bought the one I was talking about hope to have it soon. Fingers crossed she shoots well!
DeltaZero
Well my Mateba arrived. Lovely thing, shoots awfully though! Some work is definitely needed!
garry
That's a beast. How's the build quality / weight?
DeltaZero
Build quality is really nice, the wooden pistol grip is nice quality and the stain is good. Weight of it is pretty good too, well balanced. Can't argue, just shoots like !
judgeman
So i'm fixing to finally get my much coveted Tanaka SAA here in the coming months and I have a few questions as i've been out of the revolver game for a while. Â 1. Can you still find full metal externals for the SAA and where. 2. If I cannot find a FMK how can I fake a case-hardened finish on plastic.
renegadecow
KIC has some of the parts, some SD and Carom. DEN has the creation full sets. The only way to do case color hardening on plastic is paint. Pretty much the same way that Tanaka does it.
judgeman
Â Work in progress. Colt and Rugery bits and some Shooters Design parts on the way soon.
renegadecow
Will you be brass plating the back strap and trigger guard?
judgeman
Debating it. I rather like how it looks now but we shall see/

hotelkilo
tanaka S&W m36 'Ladysmith' with steel finish and wood grips, this is a totally stock revolver that i've carried and used in a few games.    drops nicely into the top admin pouch on my chest rig for those last stand monents, or i have this rather nice holster which i picked up here on the forums for when i want another carry option
