WELL G55 (Gas Blowback MP5k) Review

Recommended Posts

Nice review, exept the long intro of the real gun at the begining, waste of space!

Shame its a copy of the maruzen, the most stupid airsoft gun ever, open bolt and designed to destroy itself! I will be staying well away from this.

As a side note, check for leeky mags by putting them in water and looking for bubbles. For slow leeks you may have to wait a minute for a bubble to form. Make sure you dry of the mags properly afterwards!

its really not that bad. just a poorly designed BBU, plastic bolt cover and a brittle loading nozzle. a washer placed on the nozzle return guide fixes ALOT of the problem, then theres just the elongevity upgrades you have to do.

my biggest project is getting someone to make a freakin metal bolt cover and stronger recoil springs. the rest of the upgrades are home brew.

i expect something from EdGi around noon. Vanaras and Hexagon barely like to visit their forums. both of them are desperately looking for new products.

i havent contacted Daytonagun or GHK yet. i wont until i hear both Hexagon and Vanaras don't want to make the parts.

EdGi seemed discouraged after seeing pics of the part, but he wont give me a final answer until i semd him drawings with measurements.

i haven't gotten a reply from vanaras

Hexigon doesn't want to do it.

after i get a reply from vanaras, depending on what they say, im going to contact ratech.

if you want a full size MP5, wait for WE to get theirs out in around a year or get an escort.

i think im just going to stick with my M9 plans befor getting a couple of these for CQB. i see no use for these MP5ks for me unless i can redesign the hop up system to yield better accuracy and range, unless someone in CT or east NY opens a CQB place. im not saying i wont get someone to make the parts though.

I was wondering about using this for some quick practical shooting setup. (Anything gas and with semi auto will do wonders)

Add a stock to it, and a small reddot? How is the accuracy on it? Is it "fixable"? Innerbarrel hopup and such?

as an update to my hunt for metal parts.

it looks like i wont be getting a reply from vanaras, they just haven't visited their forum in forever.

in light of that i went on to contact ra-tech and daytonagun. i'll anxiously await their reply.

well, its got good accuracy within IPSC shooting distances, and there's a barrel available but its out of stock in most places now. the thing that would stop me from using it in IPSC comps is the long, mushy trigger pull

Why the hell would you want to use one of these for IPSC?

heh, daytonagun is interested in making the parts. the thing that stopped him though was that he doesn't like the open bolt configuration, otherwise we would have seen the parts available months ago.

it'll just take some convincing.

sigh...

Daytonagun wasnt exactly clear up until now that his true intentions were to stick an escort system in an AEG mp5k for a private project. so we wont be seeing anything from him...

still waiting for a reply from venaras and RA-Tech. i havent heard from EdGi in a while either.

Nice review. The bolt carrier looks like a softer metal than maruzen use, the Vz61 runs on a similar system and aside from a bit of wear on the finish mine shows no real wear at all after about 18months.

Horsem4n, and anyone else for that matter, aside from metal bodies and bolt covers what parts would you like to see made for this? I am already looking into getting parts machined and will be visiting a local engineering company again next week ;)

awesome.

for the best results, maybe the bolt and the sear that catches it along with the bolt cover and body.

so your privately asking a machine shop to do a small run of the parts?

if you need a sort of petition of people who will be buying them, go to gasgun.info and ask. theres plenty of people there looking for the parts too.

Not as such, i'm putting my money down to pay for setup costs and do production runs of them and i will be selling them . They've already done a run of one part for another pistol which is just awaiting anodizing and they are looking at knocking up some prototype parts for other guns. Essentially it'll be the first proper UK airsoft manufacturer :D

Well i can say now that metal bodies will be far too expensive to machine, however it should be possible to machine just about all of the internals from a variety of materials with a little redesign here and there.

2 of the parts i can almost certainly say will go into production, quite possibly next week for the simpler part of the 2 :)

Depends who you get to do the work, what products you do, what tooling needs to be purchased and how many prototypes it takes before you get to a final product but it generally can be expensive to setup, some products very expensive.

And you have to remember, anything you do, any R&D to modify products could all go to waste very fast if the pesky chinese decide to copy you.
