PILMAN
I have an eclipse my self seems to be a nice sporty car. Nothing lame about it to me.
Milla
Well the 4 cyl version (which i have) doesnt take to kindly to mods such as cam shafts and what not. With all those upgrades you wont get much ponies. Unless you drop a turbo or RIPP supercharger in it, than your gonna get some power. But the 6 cyl Eclipses are pretty nice and powerful. Â I dont know if you guys know this but they changed motors from the 2nd gen eclipses to the 3rd gen eclipses (like mine). They arent DOHC anymore, the gen 3 (mine) and gen 4 eclipses themselves are very heavy. The motor isnt as strong as the old ones, but they are a reliable platform, i havent had problems with mine. playa
You want slow? Get an audi a4 1.8t. That's SLOW. I have trouble going up hills...
Milla
Really? The Audi A4's are that slow? I drove Volkswagen Jetta 1.8Ts when i worked for a Volkscracken dealership and they had some pretty good pick up. Maybe you need a tune up? Â This guy i work with just got an Audi A4 and his is pretty quick. Edited February 23, 2006 by Milla
playa
The 1.8T? Hm, mine's pretty slow. I'll admit that the quattro helps on the takeoff, and that it also helps on turns, but that's about it. I personally want the new pontiac solstice by mallet. A corvette engine in that car. Yum. Yum. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>   4wd systems are heavy, but I doubt theyre heavy enough to kill your uphill acceleration. might want to get the car looked at.  the 1.8t gti's are built on the same setup minus the 4wd and I'd agree, theyre very quick little machines. I love them to death, its a shame theyre so pricy compared to many similar cars..... Edited February 24, 2006 by Death By Cadbury
playa
Yeah. I have a profound problem with overpaying for cars. I would prefer to spend less money on a domestic car and get more car for the money.

playa
Yeah. I'll take the car to the dealer. I don't know what's wrong with it. I haven't change fuel type or anything.

Is your turbo even spooling up? Speaking of AWD's. I want a WRX <{POST_SNAPBACK}>  Mmm....subie.......   And I agree on the tune up, if not a check up. Get a diagnostics check, if its something major, then the car will know there is something wrong. And if the check engine light isn't flashing, it could still be broken, so get it checked. airsofter22
WOW nice truck, it looks great
playa
Hmm, well I took out the car for a small spin around the block to see if everything was alright, and the turbo spools up. You can tell by the whine and the not so small kick you receieve when it kicks in. I think it might be the filter because the car seems to be running very roughly. Gahhh, I wish I had opted for subaru goodness.
luke89
Give it a small service, air filter, oil and oil filter, spark plugs and then check the performance. then if still not satisfied get i checked by a garage and if all is goo get it chipped. i know of someone who has their shoda octavia vrs (same 1.8 20v turbo engine) with 230bhp and a similar torque figure. playa
Hmm, I took it to the dealer and they said that there was nothing wrong with the car. Could it be my imagination after my friend let me drive his new mustang?
Death By Cadbury
maybe you're trying to drive the car in the lower end of the power band. Â with the way the turbo is setup, especially for running up a hill, its good to get a bit of a start beforehand to allow the turbo to spool properly. (~4300rpm default for the 1.8T GTI anyway) Â Â oh also, a word to the wise, dont let your *beep* frat boy friend borrow your unique motorized bicycle. Â he fruitcaged it all to hell and somehow managed to lose parts. Ive got almost 30 hours of seat time on that thing and I never had a problem. twice he's used it and twice he's had catastrophic problems.....sigh. Â well anyway he's got a week to come up with replacement parts or the entire useless thing becomes his and I get paid. I get screwed enough for being a nice guy, Im not taking the loss on this one.. BB_Magnet
Â 1997 Skoda Felicia. 1300cc, 54bhp czech tractor engine. cue Tim Allen style arf arf arf. 0-60 in under a minute and i'm assured it has a top speed of 95 to 100 mph, however i've yet to check that out as the M5 doesn't give it enough of a run up.
