....odd mag arrangement. I thought at first it might be 2 mags clamped together so when the first was empty it was released, spun so the 2nd mag was the right way up then re-inserted...but then wouldnt the original mag hit the trigger guard / his hand??

Why not use the safety and don't have a bullet in the chamber?

There are levels of saftey and combat redyness.

If you are about to storm a room you have your gun all locked and loaded with the saftey off.

On a hostile patroll with probable contact, you have a mag in, but the gun unloaded.

if you are not expecting contact, then you dont need a gun loaded. Its still a good idea to have a few mags handy, and this method keeps that saftey level, whyle keeping combat redyness quite high.

Imadgine a m4/m16 with a readymag; a mag in the readymag, but not in the gun. Same thing, no chance of AD, but you can load up fairly quick.

If you are outside the wire your *suitcase* is loaded, period... This is something for when your on a FOB and can't have your weapon loaded

Honestly after hearing more than a few rounds popped off into clearing barrels if they really want to cut down on AD's it is as simple as keeping your weapon loaded at all times and not messing with it... Everyone hears "treat your weapon as if it loaded", well if it is loaded I guarantee you will treat it more carefully

Who's the little fellow in the middle?

Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

[he points to some plastic cows on the table]

Father Ted: are very small; those

[pointing at some cows out of the window]

Father Ted: are far away...

Can we do a "caption this picture" for this picture?

Seren Ted: are very small; he
