Gadge
Actual skirmishing in kilts at an early war game this weekend. Even with heavy brambles and nettles we were fine, few scratches on the knees but no worse than you get *through* BD trousers some times. However the kilt, kilthose and puttees kept out all of nature... We did expose our selves a but when diving prone though....
STUNTMAN
Yeap guys... the law it's beeing aplyed... 10cm in the barrel, and full stock painted in Yellow or Red Fluorescente collors. We still fight to change this... er... stupidity. Thanks for the words, STUNTMAN

bbondaloose
That's the first kilt loadout I've seen and it actually looks good, although I personally wouldn't go for it. Imagine going prone on an ant hill. Ouchies.

Imagine going prone on an ant hill. Ouchies. or squating in nettles/brambles that could bring a tear to your eye, I bet you put the wind up the opposition though . Gadge
RE nettle and brambles you just get on with it. My knees were a bit bloody by the end of the day but didnt really hurt... diving prone was pt luck but to be fair its a very heavy and thick but of kit so unless you get caught on the esposed knee its tougher than trousers. Squatted on some sharp twigs once but meh.. we're re-enactors and the Gordons did it in the battle for France so it was good to see how tough those guys were fighting for weeks in kilts and BDs... Unlikely to do that loadout again mainly because there are very few early war games and after dunkirk kilts virtually disappear from the clothing stores being replaced by trousers as they were more economical. Video of us in action... other pics from the battle here http://s704.photobucket.com/albums/ww47/st...=Airsoft059.jpg Edited July 7, 2009 by Gadge
