"Airsoft camp" Need some feed back on my plan.

Hey guys I need some feed back on my plan for a summer camp i am helping set up. Ok let me set the stage, I am a freshman at Mount Paran Christian School, The school does these "summer camps" most suck and are a complete waste of money. I saw the sign up list on our main announcement board, whatilyaknow Airsoft! I was kinda excited, either this is gona be retarded or this could actually turn into something good. I went to our JV soccer coach who was in charge and talked about it with him, I gave him a few pointers about doing it, mainly he said we could use ski goggle and i quickly explained how you might as well not wear goggles at all. Any way, he is going to let me head it up and me and him are going to put it on. It is 5 days, 3 hours a day(I am going to try and get it longer than that as its not much at all). I am the only one that has really played seriously so I need to keep it simple. Heres my plan:

Day one.

9-Check in

930-Safety Briefing

940-Game 1 briefing

950-Game 1 start

1040-Game 1 end

1050-Game 2 briefing

11-Game 2 start

1150-Game 2 end

12-Go home

Well thats not much playing time... And when you have people that would be talking and arguing about that they want to do or not do. So I think 5 hours a day would be ideal. What do yall think? I also would have to start the week with simple games. People that havent played before so really indepth plot could be confusing and not fun. I think say game 1 and 2 would be like Team deathmatch and like capture the flag.

Day two.

9-Check in

930-Safety Briefing

940-Game 3 briefing

950-Game 3 start

1040-Game 3 end

1050-Game 4 briefing

11-Game 4 start

1150-Game 4 end

12-Go home

Game 3= "Demo" aka plant the "bomb" on the target

Game 4= Escort the VIP

If you cant tell, I am so far each day increasing in difficulty and complexity.

Day three.

9-Check in

930-Safety Briefing

940-Game 5 briefing

950-Game 5 start

1040-Game 5 end

1050-Game 6 briefing

11-Game 6 start

1150-Game 6 end

12-Go home

Game 5=???

Game 6=???

Then Days 4 and 5. I would like to have longer games that play off each other. I am thinking about maybe a OP. I also want to try and get night games, well see. I plan on meeting with him on friday to go over some stuff. If yall could give me some tips and some short to medium length games. I want to do 1250-1800 a day. thats 5 and a half hours which is more reasonable. If we do it any longer we would have to deal with meals which would make things more difficult for us. I need some feed back on my plan. I think its pretty fool proof but if any thing can go wrong it will.

Thanks!

Yeah, I have gotten the requirements changed to PB goggles for everyone unless they show me what they are going to be using. Also for ages 13 and under its either a face mask, or balaclava.

Most all people that would consider going to this have some sort of airsoft gun. And plus Its a private school so that means rich parents and spoiled kids so they will prob buy a hella lot of ###### for it.

billy, i'll help you out.

if you really want to do a summer camp, you should have over night stuff, and not just playing.

pleast correct me if i have the wrong idea, but essentially you're just hosting a bunch of pick up games?

not quite a summer camp... am i wrong?

i suggest finding a location that will let you rent it out for a week

-first day teach airsoft safety... basic tactics, basic gun use, how to use a weapn (treat them as real weapons, always on safe and mags out, finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot... etc etc... )

let them set up their defenses the whole first day and all that stuff....

-second day let them play some pick up games and get familiar w/ their team mates and such.

-third day begin the scenario. this scenario will last from day 3 to day 6 morning. non stop.

the only safezones will be the staging area for the camp, or each teams respective cabins (inside, doors and windows shut at all times). anyone caught violating safety code will be ejected from the game for 2 hours, 2nd time, for the rest of the day (caught at 1am means you sit out till 00:00 hours the next day) third time, you go home, never come back and lose your money. safety is the most important thing in airsoft, and exceptions are not an option.

-day 7 (final day) people can play pick up games if they like, awards will be awarded, raffle and such will be done, and by 2pm they're gone.

take that and tweak it to your liking.

i'm down to help/moderate said camp if you want.

also, unrelated, is that a masada in your avatar? if so, HOW!!!!

we could easily charge a few hundred dollars for it.... 400 a piece, maybe less

they get a full weeks room and board, food, and not to mention the experience as well as the summer camp...

not bad at all.

dont have to go overboard w/ the food. water will be the only hydration, its cheap and the best for you.

food we'll keep low, but not ethiopian (too far?) because the whole point of airsoft is to mimic real life combat...

we'll have tons of granola bars, and simple foods... and the last day we'll go all out on a big pizza party w/ wings and such...

if we could get 20-40 people (not overly difficult w/ the propper execution, imo)

we're in gravy.

40 people = $16,000 (thousand) at 400 a head.

if you're down for this, time is of hte essence.

I would do that, but All i have to work with this idea is i have 3 hours a day, for for five days. It is a school function. SO yeah. ITs going to be on campus which will be cool. But maby later we could do what you said at a different location. The price is set at 120 for 5 days. I am trying to get a night game but i doubt i can. I have to present all these ideas to the coach in charge of it on tuesday. He told me I am in charge of the airsoft part of it, so I am going to run it like a normal OP, but scaled down and alot easier.

Day one your safety briefing needs to be longer, a lot longer. These will be new players who need it explaining one detail at a time. Make sure you tell them that 'I talk, you listen' otherwise everyone and his brother will interrupt and it will be chaos. At the end of safety briefing , ask 'any questions?' Chances are as its your first, you will miss something, blind firing is one that comes to mind.

Booking in takes around an hour because no one has the money, paperwork etc ready and people always turn up late. So start at 8.45 if you can, try to finish at 9.45, Safety briefing 9.45 until 10 am. Game briefing next for ten minutes, but make the games continuous, with stops on the hour or 50 minutes to swop objectives, reload etc.

Keep the games very simple, collecting ammo box, take back to base and defend etc. Try to orchestrate the game so one team doesn't dominate, if necessary, bend the rules or give the losing team 'inside information' such as 'in 10 minutes team A are going to attack via that path - set an ambush. Then tell team A they must go down that path as every other path is mined..........

I will just go over common sense. And all those rules. I think i got all that figured out. I just need more game ideas. I think i am going to run a mini OP... so like days 4-5 for two hours(will be broken down to one hour sessions) each day. so a total of 4 one hour games. I am thinking about doing just lots of short games, but i think it would be fun to have a short op. I will ask coach and see what he likes.

Judging by the gear list in your sig... i'm guessing you're one them? :)

Cool idea, but there is a lot of room for it to all go tits up. Great for team building if it is done properly though :)

No not really, unfortunatly my money my guns...

and yeah, So far we have 15 people signed up and I am trying to recruit alot of the high school... I bet maby 25-30 just from high school. So I think people wize were good. Also had a meeting with the coach thats "in charge" and we have a green light. I have a breifing/rules sheet that I will read every morning. Also the games I am going to run are, Team death match, capture the flag, king of the hill, VIP, elimination, attack and defend, and a mini series OP. So I think I got everything I need. But I am thinking on trying to make more money on top of the 60 per person. So i am thinking on selling water, snacks, bbs, and then renting out masks, and maby like spring shot guns(or maby just selling them).

Well, All are students sooo... I think as long as we keep it as that, and they sign wavers we are covered. I think we all had to sign something where the school isnt liable for anything... I will have to ask.

Better cover your own insurance and liability as well. Else you will end up in one of Americas favorite sentences: "I will sue you".

Well that is out of the question. Its already set in stone and we have about 8 people signed up already. So I have to work with what I have.

I have my agenda(cause who likes paying to play airsoft but ending up sitting around all day in the staging area), Briefing sheet(will be read at the start of every day), and a games sheet(just a collection of games to play and the instructions on how to play). Me and the coach are going to email people once the register, a list of basic things to bring, and the rules so people can go ahead and read them. Also a 'what to expect' sheet, so they kinda have a clue of what they whole week is going to be like. I do need some suggestions on the list of things to bring. Keep in mind these are 'noobs' and they are going to have the bare minimum.

List:

-Water

-Gun

-Ammo

-Closed toe shoes (I would say boots but some people prob dont have them)

-Long clothing

-Mask/goggles

-Something to carrie your extra equipment in(pockets, vest, whatever)

-???

Thats all I can think of for now. We will have extra water there, also things like bug spray, med kit, stuff like that.
