ThaFlash
ThaFlash, not to missunderstand each other, I mean this kind of slide unlock (after this guy empties the clip quickly): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqBW4S630YY...feature=related The normal twohanded unlock, where the thumb of the supporting hand unlocks the slide catch, is possible of course (for right handed shooters ). Anyone got one of those fancy new WA releases? Texas Rangers 1911? Tiki? The Recon Talon with sand frame? That's the way I normally release the slide after a reload to prevent wear on the slide stop notch. I actually really, really want to play around with the Tiki. It's possibly my favorite 1911. If I had the $6k to spare I'd get it. Hell, if I could I'd buy the 5 to have California DOJ test them so that I could then buy 1... yeah... I like the Tiki.
SamJacksonFan
You know WA has released two TIKIs?
SamJacksonFan
StgHanzo, your MEU looks nice. Great photos. Here's my duotone TRP, finally with beavertail installed and therefore finished project.
ThaFlash
I haven't found the Tiki's for sale at HK shops; maybe a good thing because I can't afford one right now. I really want a polished model and then a full metal kit.
SamJacksonFan
Uh, full metal? Well that will be the value of a compact car there Maybe there will come up some more metal kits when the tiki hits the dealers. Was quite newly anounced, around december if I recall right. Most of the newly released models haven't found their way to the big known asia retailers yet.
RacingManiac
The Tiki kit from proG4 was I remember the cost of an arm and a leg......so I won't expect any less...lol
BrooklynBorn
Quick Q on the Tanio Koba grips for the Hi-Capa I notice that the mag bumper is smaller when I see people using the TK grip. Why is that? Does it come with a smaller bumper? Are you using MEU mags? I haven;t the slightest idea what it could be
RacingManiac
Most people use Hi-Capa 4.3 magazine with the TK grip. 4.3 comes with slightly shorter mag, and shorter bumper... Technically thats one for the 2011 thread though...

RacingManiac
yep, 4.3 mag aside from the slightly shorter bottom(outside of the grip) is identical to the 5.1. I think there is like 2-4 rounds capacity difference.
Clockwork_O
BoomArms have a Tiki aluminium kit in stock... Sanko also has a two Tiki kits in stock... Greetings
SamJacksonFan
Wow, Sanko has great stuff I haven't seen with other onlinestores yet. Boom Arms to me was the most versatile shop before. They have stuff no one else has outside Japan.
RacingManiac
Are they(Boom Arms) more responsive now to any communication? It took them forever after tons of e-mail for them to get back to me...
Clockwork_O
Depends you should email them twice or so a day, but they respond my mails... THey have some nice kits and Johnny told me he can get more stuff then what is published on his website..
BrooklynBorn
Are they(Boom Arms) more responsive now to any communication? It took them forever after tons of e-mail for them to get back to me... Strange, about a year and 4 months ago, I ordered a KSC Glock from them, and multiple parts. I recieved correspondence in about a day after ordering, and my gun from HK in 4 days, standard shipping. They were great to me. AND SON OF A BULLDOZER!! $1150? I'll wait for the layaway price. elchinator
Very nice TRP, Sammi! But one 1911 always looks so lonely...
SamJacksonFan
Don't have enough space to put all my 1911s on one picture. Well, I'll try … … I tried, here's my current single stack collection as a quick shot … well, I obviously seem to be a Wilson style Magazine guy : Edited January 16, 2010 by SamJacksonFan

elchinator
What is the rail system on the middle pistol please? That's the Element pistol flashlight / laser mount. A bit cheapo, but it works.
SamJacksonFan
The Dawson rail can be seen on my Marsoc/ICQB. It's this small one. This attachable systems are pretty popular. Surefire has some, too.
bomba1385
The mismatched suppressor size and caliber markings are a bit irritating. The performance and the photo-op meter somewhat compensates for this pistol's misgivings, though. 'still looking for the correct suppressor. Nothing new here, just a bit different presentation. http://armand321.smugmug.com/Personal/Airs...078_v4Cit-L.jpg http://armand321.smugmug.com/Personal/Airs...895_D3BHv-L.jpg http://armand321.smugmug.com/Personal/Airs...722_iaty2-L.jpg http://armand321.smugmug.com/Personal/Airs...495_RwrqB-L.jpg hey dude where did you get you barrel from and how much was it thanks monkey Edit by Elrey: Please remove the tags when you quote posts with pictures

Ah, I thought the question was directed towards the Kimber. How's the clamp on mount working for you? Do you have any holstering issues? -Piano
TeowneD
SamJacksonFan, those are beautiful WA 1911s! i'm a huge fan of Kimber 1911s. do any of your 1911s have metal kits installed. how does the recoil compare to a WA 1911 with a metal kit and one without? cuz i might be getting one for my MEU 1911
SamJacksonFan
No metal kits at all, only one metal slide: • TRP is Marui based custom piece, ABS/fibre glas • Springfield Custom 1911 is based on Marui 1911A1 with PGC Springfield metal slide and Hicapa internals (added together with Koba spacer) • WA Kimber Warrior is stock, only real G10 Warrior grips • WA Kimber Marsco is stock, Proud replica grips (have original Gunners, but they are black) • Marui MEU stock, with original Pachmayrs • WA Wilson Combat SDS, all stock Have no experience with metal WAs yet, but they kick is pretty strong and crisp in the ABS version already (quite more than stock Maruis). Well done I guess the full metal version will have very impressive kick, but it will cost quite some bucks. The Maruis as ABS versions are crisp, fast and sharp, fun to shoot, too. The metal slided Springfield Custom brings more pound to it, but is slightly slower in comparison. If I'd tuned it up properly it probably would kick quite hard. There's potential, if you invest the money. To me good ABS versions are enough. I'll convert the Marui MEU in a Kimber SIS though with Hurricane kit, if I get my hands on it. But this will take some time. I'll report, if there's interest.
