April 1st, Ordered an EoTech552 Replica from DragonRed Airsoft

http://www.dragonredairsoft.com/airsoft/vi...productID=23133

Heard mixed reviews. Those who have got their replicas were satisfied, however there were those who were also *fruitcage*ed over (ex: some guy got paypal account stolen appparently)

Once ordered I patiently awaited any shipping info. No word for a week.

A week later I get an email saying it's out of stock "refund or wait, should be in stock in next two days"

6 days go by, nothing. Left negative comment on website.

7th day, paypal sends me shipping confirm.

(NOTE: for the last 3 weeks even when i got the confirmation, the item online did not display IN STOCK once, I checked every day in anticipation)

I recieved the EoTech.

I was happy.... that is until I turned it on. No "Our 552 has the correct A65 reticle!!"

Instead must have gotten an older version with the Ballistic Drop reticule.

I began to note some other odd things.

Screw driver marks.

Sharpie to cover up screw driver marks

Sand under windage and elevation screws. Could be rust residue though, not sure because there is a lot of it.

I begin to think that because the item online never came in stock, I actually just got an old 552 replica that was on the back shelf or put away because it was refunded or exchanged.

The model that I got did include rubber flip covers though, weird since it's not for sale on the dragonred site.

I sent an email letting him know I did not get A65.

At first he denied that it was wrong, and that I did in fact get an A65, even though I attached an image for him. I explained to him more in detail about the differences in the reticles, I then

I got back this:

oh, I see. However, to us it is the same lol since we are no weapon specialists.

We are not selling them as real EO552, but toy replicas. In this case, none of the toy 552 actually has the real A65 reticles.

If you don't wnat to keep it, you may return to us. We can refund you after deduct the shipping.

"oh, i see...lol"???

I am quite dissapointed right now, why is he using loopholes in terminology to get past this issue.

I wish I could edit his front page and write for him "None of EoTech Replica have real A65 Reticles!"

I'm emailed him back asking for him to just ship me replacement and expressing my dissapointment, but we'll see how it goes from there

Honestly, the sand looks more like grid or some kind of grease to me. China clones usually have dents, scratches and imperfections but I guess you know that.

About the reticle, I do belive they don't know what a A65 really looks like.

I ordered the 577 what ACM calls it which is actually a 556. So they don't even know the difference between the optics.

My order itself went pretty good, the item itself looked good and was very well made, to my surprise no imperfections and nice markings.

Unfortunately I has a ghost image indoors, so I emailed them about what do to. I offered them to give me a discount and he instantly agreed to refund me $10 (I paid $90 total). I had to remind him twice but in the end I recieved my refund.

That's how it works with ACM, so ask for a refund and resell the 552 if you don't like it.

I'd be mad too, but that's just the way it is.

These things still sell like hot cakes, especially with markings.

About the comment section, you can simple leave another one.

Yeah i dunno, i would really prefer to have A65.

The it was advertised online too.

Anyways,

I sent a long whining email about the issue to him, and he's letting me return it.

Hopefully he can ship a proper eotech back to me.

I bought a scope on thursday and hanven't gotten any response either. Maybe it's just taking longer. Again the contact on my first order and the refund went well and quick so I'm pretty confident.

Daniel, from DragonRed seems to be helpful and is in no way disrespecting me.

I just had major doubts.

It appears he is indeed trying to help my case,

We found it already and it is best quality of all as the factory claims. We expect the new 552 come to our stock next Tuesday.

I'll update you guys.

First! ;)

So I ordered during their moving, the Optic was "in stock"

They should have gotten back in business on saturday.

Nothing

I shot them a mail again sunday night and recieved a reply on monday where he said the optic would be back in stock in about 2 days.... so don't trust the in stock/out of stock statement.

  • 1 month later...

well sorry for delay, i have been extremely busy lately and forgot this case.

So they ended up sending me a new eotech.

This one however ended up to be worse quality than the first one, but it did have the correct A65.

The thing is, that the elevation adjustment was broken so i could not adjust.

I didn't feel like waiting an extra two weeks to get another one so i ended up just asking to for them to ship me back the original one.

So i basically paid an extra 10 dollars for nothing. $5 dollars of shipping both times.
