Reincarnation...
Only thing that wouldn't be completely the same is the stock tube adapter and the pistol grip for the AK. Everything else is currently available in the airsoft world. Edited August 22, 2009 by Reincarnation...
Mr. Jon
Â Cyma AKM, i just had to get the plum pistol grip off it, its less red in person though, much more fakelite. Edited August 22, 2009 by Mr. Jon

Mr. Jon
ACM. if you can get the real one do it, mine is fine but the reticules are a bit iffy, so i'd think it was worth the little bit extra.
Pyrodex
cool thanks for that i was going to ask about reticule quality! i'll get saving!
my_plague_666
You'll only find side-folder pics with a grenade launcher. Â not true. there are photos of GP25s being used with the AKMS. the stock won't lock into place, but it's still more compact than either a full stock or having the stock extended. Robinio
Hello guys, nice rifles, I'm a bit newb on the AK front, but since me any my friend started chatting about playing as a merc on the next berget, we would get russian gear/weaponry,  I would like to build an AKM or AKMS, with steel and preferably wood grips. When buying the base gun, wood grips aren't a must, more of a plus  What guns manufacturer do you recommend? I've been thinking about Cyma or Kalash.   And is there any good steel AK 47/AKM mags?  Cheers Rob.
DFM56
I had pretty good luck with my old CYMA AKM. Pretty solid internally, beastly rof for a stock gun going 400 FPS when I dropped a 'fet in. The new "steel" line is very good from what I've heard.
WL-Matt
People tend to like Kalash/Dboys over CYMA usually. Â MAG magazines are the cheaper alternative and they work will almost everything, I personally had to modify mine a little to fit in my CYMA AKS-74U.
darthrebelpenguin
For me, it would be CYMA. I've owned two CYMA Ak's and one Kalash. The Kalash lasted 1 game before it went to hell. On the other hand, my old plastic AK74 has gone two years stock with an ungodly amount of rounds through it with only standard maintenance. I expect my new AKM to be the same. When buying the base gun, wood grips aren't a must, more of a plus  kalash AKMS if you want steel. the cyma guns are nice, but externally they dont match up to kalash. plus the internals on the steel kalash guns seem to be of a higher standard. DarkLite
kalash AKMS if you want steel. the cyma guns are nice, but externally they dont match up to kalash. plus the internals on the steel kalash guns seem to be of a higher standard. Â No. Kalash for steel externals, but their internals are gash. CYMA, on the other hand, have exceptionally good internals. The latest VFC-style CYMA AKs are fantastic in every respect. Robinio
Well, I WANT an metal body, what lines of metal bodies does cyma do? (and I do have some spare parts I can put into the GBox) Â Â
Marlowe
What Darklite said is spot on. Â I had to dump the gearbox out of my dboys aks74 at its first game. Replaced it with a cyma gearbox. Never looked back. Â The new Cymas are truly amazing. I was very snobbish about them (after the older Cymas) until I tried one. Consistent, accurate and a high rate of fire out of the box. bombermonk
but the paint they use to paint their metal is really really ugly. It's more of a matt black/grey type. Instead of semi gloss black, it should be. Iternally they are super tho
