Gentlemen. Simply put we have a winner.

After spending 2 hours I shot 1500 rounds total through the rifle. 750 on Duster and 750 on Propane. I don't have a chrono, so no hard numbers.

Duster.

Mag held up great, no leaks no real trouble other than the initial fill kept venting, but apply a little pressure on the knocker valve and all is well.

I would say the duster is actually skirmish able on this. I was seeing right around 100 - 110 feet, with it being RIGHT ON THE MONEY for the shots I was making against a tree. Very very impressed. Fire rate was one shot every 2 seconds. I did not rapid fire or full auto, as my intent was to gauge the flight of the BB.

Propane.

The mag did not leak, on any of the 18 fill up's or top offs I did on it. Seriously if these mags cost under 30 bucks holy ######, I actually dropped it onto my concrete floor from a height of about 5 feet, and not scratch and its fully working.

Very very skirmish able. I was seeing 150ft+ was getting dark, these were flying straight and true. I'm very impressed.

Bad things:

So BB's if you point the gun straight down will just roll out of the barrel on to the floor. Didn't matter how much I adjusted the hop was the same.

At around BB number 600 on Propane(so 1350ish overall) the hop broke just like on the WA. The segment from about 10' o clock to 12' o clock broke on it.(Going clockwise)

Did I expect that....yup exact same place it broke on my WA. Did it affect rounds 601 - 750, nope it kept shooting like a gem. The bolt face showed no wear signs that I could make out.

Suggested upgrades:

Metal bolt face(can't be to safe in my opinion because its going to break on propane eventually)

Metal Hop(ya we all knew this was to be expected)

Out side of those two upgrades I don't see anything else that has to be upgrade on this puppy. The overall quality of the piece is very very nice.

I'm veryyyyyyyyyy impressed with these mags. I think we have some really winners with them.

Overall this is a great piece. I think with a couple of upgrades for reliability on high pressure gases these things will last practically for ever, but we'll see. To continue this review over the next couple of weeks I'll be putting 500 rounds total (250 Duster 250 Propane) each day through it to see how the wear and tear is on the overall system. At the same time I'll be putting in the orders for the new parts I mentioned above.

Thank you for this review, I'm definitely going to sell my AEG's and get this along with a few upgrades. So the upgraded Hop-up is a must before even upgrading the bolt face. How about an Inner Barrel? I'll have to make a list of upgrades then...

As for FPS, the reading for top gas was around 400 FPS... Propane shoots at 130 PSI, so it should be right around there.

I plan to run mine on duster for indoor CQB games...but I need to learn how to use duster gas!

Will this work with an adapter:

http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/6275...ned-Air-Duster/

http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/misc.htm

2nd item down

How do I lube the gas so I don't dry out the seals and o-rings on a AGM?

Hi All,

Well I'm sold... a couple of things I'd like to know from some of the GBB old-hats.

  • Why do people use duster and propane over 134a and Green Gas? and, is "Duster" just compressed air that you use to clean electronics and keyboards? Forgive the ignorance.
  • What is the benefit of getting the entire assembled RATech NPAS Bolt over just the NPAS Kit? (There is about $80 difference in cost.. want to know if it's worth it or if the NPAS kit itself will suffice in this gun).
  • Where is everyone ordering their NPAS kits from? I have seen some on the Tokyo Model Company website and a European Airsoft site, but can't find any in stockists in the UK.
Cheers for the reviews and any info you can provide. I'll have to go get my order started now.

Cpl Dave.

If it is compatible w/ the NPAS and aftermarket barrel and hopups, this would be a clone I could definitely get down with.

Poison, how's your bolt stop holding up?

Hello boys and girls,

Just picked up my AGM M4 too in Mongkok, HK 'bout 1 hr ago. No field tests yet, just dry fire in the shop. In terms of rigidity, in comparison to the G&P, man the AGM receiver's solid. No wobbles. Stock OTOH did wobble a little. Cocking handle very smooth - strangely the G&P OTOH didn't slide back. Unfortunately I didn't shoot against the G&P this time but the AGM had a nice kick out of the box. I did dry fire the G&P WOC back in Feb (Gen 1??) and I just have this gut feeling that the AGM had a stronger recoil. However, again this is comparing something 4 months apart so it's subjective.

I also picked up the RA-Tech NPAS Complete & hopup/inner barrel. That's primarily to replace the plastic components mentioned by poison123 (although I bought it before reading his review). I'm told there are two types of NPAS - one for Prime receivers, another for WA. I bought the one for Prime 'cos I intend to buy the Prime Magpul lower/MUR upper. But to asnwer davedawg123, Tokyo Model Co said that the NPAS for WA will just "drop". Similarly with the hopup chamber/barrel package.

cpldave, you can buy from RA-Tech directly. Don't have to buy it from an HK reseller.

i have the same questions as cpldave. This will be my first gbb rifle. Can you link me to what upgrades i should by?

ShinHK is the best person to answer this but here's my plan :-

Internals for a start :-

Ra-Tech Bolt (in my case I went for the complete, but probably just the NPAS Aluminium Nozzle set is sufficient??)

Hopup Chamber set (but probably just Hopup chamber is sufficient?)

Externals for a start :-

Prime Magpul Receiver

Prime Vltor MUR

Prime Ambi Selector

Prime Ambi Mag Catch

Airsoft Surgeon Trigger

Noveske 10" Float Rail

Outer barrel - ShinHK gave a good tip today of which has thrown me off. I want a 14.5" silver outer barrel, and the only one I can find is Dytac but was told Dytac's based on WA of which requires the WA barrel nut (and I don't know if that's compatible with the Noveske 10" Rail then). Airsoft Surgeon's Noveske N4 GBB OTOH seems to have a G&P Silver barrel which I can't find -anywhere-.

As parts wear :-

Prime/G&P Lower Receiver Parts

(or Ra-Tech maybe hammer & spring & other internals, instead of G&P, etc.).

You can't legally buy 134a in the US anymore. So Duster gas is essentially the same thing, depending on the brand it might be a tad bit lower power. I stick with RadioShacks stuff because it was the best in all the tests i did a long time ago.

I'm debating just getting the replacement bolt set instead of the complete carrier too.

Bolt stop is showing some wear, but no where to the degree the WAs did. I think it'll live to 3k+ rounds.

Thanks for the great replies poison. Glad to hear the gun is doing OK with your strenuous testing regime :P

I was searching the RATech website for an estimate on parts to get and hit a snag. The RATech Inner Barrel with attached hop-up comes in 3 lengths, I would guess it is the Medium length that we would need for the M4, but can you confirm.

So far these are the RATech Part numbers I am adding to my parts list:

RAG-WA-bolt-022 = NPAS Kit only (no bolt carrier) ~80 USD

RAG-WA-front sight-003 = Inner Barrel + Hop-Up ~120 USD

Any clarification on the barrel length that I need is appreciated.

Cheers,

Cpl Dave.

This is what I'm buying from Ra-Tech at the moment:

RAG-WA-front sight-004

RAG-WA-front sight-001

RAG-WA-bolt-021

Its length is 250 mm and 363 mm respectively for original CQB and standard M4. So those should be the short and Medium.....I think. When you send you order to Ra-Tech I'd put a note on there asking about it to be sure.

I got to fire one of these today.

1) HOLY *suitcase* IT'S SOLID. SO VERY VERY SOLID.

2) The controls all work and are smooth - I don't know if the forward assist is supposed to function on the WA, but I can't tell what it does on the AGM - If the bolt is forward, the forward assist does nothing.

3) The mags leak on green gas. They didn't leak (Or I couldn't hear it leaking) on 134a.

4) HOLY *suitcase* IT'S SOLID.

5) Outrageously fun. Recoil is good too.

FA only really does something (push the bolt forward) when the bolt isn't all the way forward i.e. jammed bbs or press checking a chamber

I'm getting just the alum bolt with npas kit. I'm 99% sure its going to work with the stock bolt carrier.

Now I was actually planning on buying all of my parts from redwolfairsoft.com

How are Airsoft Surgeon parts anyways?
