FalcoNg
Seeing as this is a new gearbox type, does the manual come with instructions on how to also take the gearbox apart or does it just show you how to get to it?
Sale
The manual shows how to get to it, and beyond that there's nothing specific that you should know. Just the basic things when disassembling any gearbox will get you through the job easily. The good fit between Real Sword part helps greatly with the disassembly and assembly process. Trasher
I'd be confident with anything up to M160–M170. What I might do is switch the sector gear bearings to solid bushings. Please note guys, with a Systema M160 your rifle will be well over 600fps... I think an ~M140 and .29 SGMs is the best combo for the SVD.

If so what weight bb and fps did you achieve? Edited September 13, 2009 by FalcoNg
fyurian
what fps do u get out of an m140 and .2's?? Â i wanna know if it would go over the 505fps limit and if it does what spring i should take to get as close to 500 as possible Edited September 13, 2009 by fyurian
Horse
Has anyone heard when the SVD-S and the Poly stock models will be released? I have emailed RS several times but never got an answer.
Horse
Got this back from RS:  Dear Horse, Thanks for your approval on our product, and what you favored is already in our agenda, but we have no exactly idea about when it will be released. You will be informed if I get any new info about it.  Best wishes! Sophia RS Service

Horse
yep = but then again I won't have money for a while either, so that could all work out in the end.
Kov
Funny you mention it, that's what happened with me and the SVD I own now  Still no regrets. Hopefully it will stay that way. Did I mention that the mags are rock solid?
Schultz98
sorry if its been said, but I ordered my Rs svd last night, any specific hop ups you would reccomend? Idk if different guns take different hop up buckings.. but my local shop carries like systema or madbull. but let me know please. I am so exited about getting the ugn and this thread really helped. I will be running it stock until I see if I need a better barrel or spring, just looking to put a nice hop up buckin in off the bat though. pleas elink me to one if you can please. Trasher
Tried different setups, the best was the black Madbull Shark with the black fishbone nub/spacer. The Element/Deepfire black H-nub is not recommended, the white is OK. The factory barrel is high quality, no need to replace. Â Test the stock gun before replacing anything. Trasher
For example: Â http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/madbull-shark-h...one-spacer.html
Kov
I also recommend the black fishbone nub/spacer. I think there are quite a few of us in this thead that had their double feeding issues fixed with this unit.
Schultz98
thanks guys. I think ill order one tonight   Think this battery would fit the foregrips battery area with a lipo protective circuit board(i am geussing a mosfet?)  http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/bb-battery/batt...-ak-series.html   also what bb weight would you reccomend for the gun stock? Schultz98
sorry for the multiple questions, but what spring will give me 450+ with your reccomended bb weights? please let me know I need to order these thigns so I get them around the time i get my gun. Thanks again for the help guys. I cant wait to get this thing
Kov
That should fit. For around 450-500fps something around .30g seems like a popular choice (I use them also). Check out the sniper threads for more info on bbs.
mightyjebus
I've got mine set up with a madbull clear hop rubber and original nub. this produces good accuracy using G&P 0.28g BB's. My local site allows 350 FPS max and I have it firing at 340 +/- 2%.  I'm using a standard 1400Mah battery as I don't need to drive a large spring.  The only problem encountered so far is that the magazines double feed when you get to the last 5 BB's in the mag which actually is a bit of a bonus as It lets me know I need to change mags  Range at 340 FPS is still good with reliable hits at 50 meters.  Hopefully my ACM bipod will turn up this week as I'm taking the SVD out skirmishing this weekend. Schultz98
sweet thanks for the info. I just need to find out what spring I need to get like 450-500 fps with .25 or .

Schultz98
one question, I am buying a scope, Is 4 power all you need for airsoft? I am seeing they have 6,8, and 10 power scopes as well in PSO or POSP, and I really like the posp 4x24, is that fine for airsoft?
counterassasin
A 4x scope is more than enough for airsoft purposes. In fact, sometimes, even less zoom would be desirable  I opened mine a few days ago, and noticed that the Madbull Black rubber had seen heavy use, starting to show signs of tearing.
