Internally $1k each, or $1k each because it's a few $300-400 rifles with expensive parts on the outside? The stock VFC SR15 plus the optic and light alone would be over $1000.

Considering that the optic and light on the SR-15 are in fact over $1K....I do get your point.

Internal upgrades are the standard affair; Tighbores, gear workup and new cylinders and bushings. Upgrading internally for a gun these days is hard do past $200 for something effective, and it's almost uneeded for stuff like VFC guns...

pistols and GBBRs...different story, but most of the guns in this thread are pushing past $1K thanks to external upgrades, be it rails, stocks and optics. I remember the days when buying RIS/RAS rails was expensive as all get up though, lol.

Well it's more a case of look at that shiny gun, it's GENERALLY RECOMMENDED that the base gun costs in excess of $1000 rather than lights/lasers/etc but I mean if you have an $900 base gun with a RS Aimpoint, it's hardly making it a $1k gun on extras, however, if your gun alone costs $600 and the extras etc push it above $1k, then it's not really a $1k gun. Like people who buy say a G&P M4, put a RS DD 12" Rail on it, and then say, oh look it's a $1k gun!

The best criteria is it should FEEL like a $1k gun, if someone picks it up and goes OOOOOOOH, shoots it and goes AAAAHH, then that's what I would call a $1k gun.

Forgive the *suitcasey* picture and crossposting. Easily over $1200 without magazines or shells. My wallet weeps.

I won't post any details yet, but I'm just 2 parts away from entering the thread.

Here's the catch, no real steel items, in addition to the no magazines or rail mounted rules either.

No its not a Systema or a sniper rifle.

I probably won't have the cash to get the other items for another month or two, but I'm still pretty excited!
