Bareknuckle
He's probably too busy enjoying the awesomeness of his new GBB M4 to post about it. Â I really want to know more about the apparently fixed hop-up, because that could be a real performance killer depending on how good the hop-up is. Jin15
Actually I'm just busy cursing stupid USPS/EMS for not delivering my WE M4 today! The package tracking information said it went out for delivery at 7:40 this morning but I've been home all day and they never tried to deliver it at all. Â So at this point I'm pretty furious at the postal service and just hoping mine will arrive tomorrow
Lt.Fenix
According to WE's message, WGC's version is Asia version and ours is Export version. So the power is different to our selling version. And our package is comes with 2 inner barrels, one for Carbine and one for CQB. Â Is it the magazine that's different or the gun itself? Jin15
Indeed that is true, but EMS Speed Post (delivering through Express Mail in the US) does deliver on federal holidays such as Veterans Day and my tracking info said it was being delivered today... and yet, no package. Matt0311
I am going to sell my SAM-R for one of these. Looks really cool, and i like the idea of a gas rifle with a little kickback than an electric gun.
Jin15
Hey Lupus! Â Just wanted to confirm something since I haven't seen any pics... Airsoft Buddy said that his special packages came with a CQB option inner barrel and outer barrel but I haven't seen any CQB length outer barrels in any pics posted. Â So I'm wondering, does the outer barrel have an extension on it that unscrews right in front of the front sight? Â I know I should find out for myself tomorrow when I get mine, but I just noticed that I hadn't seen any pics of the CQB length outer barrel setup from anyone so I just wanted to confirm that it does have one. I've never been a big fan of carbine length M4s and I really bought the WE M4 instead of waiting for the Marui SOPMOD blowback M4 because I could have a CQB length gun without having to buy a separate outer barrel for it. Â So yeah... the outer barrel does unscrew in front of the front sight to reveal 14mm CCW threading for a flashider and CQB length outer barrel setup, yes?
slu
To follow onto that Lupus, you mention the handedness of the threading. Do you know if its 14mm? I.e., can you thread an AEG hider on to test?

Lupus78
So I'm wondering, does the outer barrel have an extension on it that unscrews right in front of the front sight? Yes, the outer barrel extension unscrews just near the front sight. It reveals the full-length inner barrel, which need to be replaced also. Â So yeah... the outer barrel does unscrew in front of the front sight to reveal 14mm CCW threading for a flashider and CQB length outer barrel setup, yes? I think it's CW not CCW. At least you tighten the flash hider screwing it clockwise. Ain't that the same as CW? I always get confused with these. Only gun I've owned to have 14mm threads are the MP5K with (supposedly) CW adapter and the XM177 which I haven't tried to use with any other accessories. Â To follow onto that Lupus, you mention the handedness of the threading. Do you know if its 14mm? I.e., can you thread an AEG hider on to test? Yes, should be standard 14mm. I was able to screw on the King Arms Pro Silencer. It has CW threads on the other end and CCW on the other. No problems fitting it. Â I tried to put on my CA m15a4 flash hider on the WE, but it didnt fit. If it's CCW then it cannot fit. The threads are CW. At least this is what I think they are... Chris North
Righty-tighty lefty-loosey, Lupus. Â You're right, it is CW thread from what you describe. If it moves away from you when turning it clockwise, then it's CW, but if the object turning moves toward you when turning clockwise, it's CCW. I prefer -14mm or +14mm, 'cause the mathematical functions make it sound smart and cool.
Lupus78
Heh, I'm not a native english-speaker. So a lot of these riddles ain't too familiar. (We have our own Finnish versions.) Â Oh I've heard them once or more times, sure. But never memorized them. And the logic behind negative threads is still a mystery to me. In RealLife I've been more accustomed to regular clockwise threads. And airsoft as sports is a relatively new acquaintance to me. Real steel handguns have been more familiar. And I guess since my previous hobbies, and the fact I started this at relatively "old" age, these more realistic gas guns have been more of my thing than the AEGs that sound like sewing-machines. Â Finally I have the airsoft rifle I've always wanted. Edited November 12, 2008 by Lupus78
chas
Another thing for WE to change: RS specs may be cool and all, but most people will want to be able to use all the aftermarket airsoft stuff, so, WE, please: Â - make the new batches fit for airsoft handguards - CCW flash hider threads or include an adapter - stock tube for airsoft stocks, IF there's a problem - any chance of modding the grip part so we can install airsoft grips? Â P.S. Rsov will offer the GBB AKSU (the one with Dboys externals) soon. PRice will still be 400$.

Not needed to make it fit "airsoft" handguards since many airsoft parts are 1:1 or so close that it would fit. Pistol grip is also no biggy since WAM4 pistolgrips would fit and there is a few out there already.  Stock tube for airsoft is also no biggy.. since G&P WA stocktube would probably fit since it is with real thread like RS.  CCW would have been nice though since there is more parts out for CCW then CW.
UrPeaceKeeper
And the logic behind negative threads is still a mystery to me. Â Sometimes threading matters on objects that rotate (like the nuts that hold your tire on for instance) if they are installed a certain way they can come loose and cause serious problems. So for stuff that rotates the negative/positive threading matters. As for why it's a certain way on airsoft guns and real guns? Probably tradition more than anything Why do we have right hand twists in 90% of real guns when left hand twists produce the same results? Tradition! Â What this does mean for us is a G&P M16 flashhider (for the G&P M16) should fit since they are all CW instead of CCW.

Along those lines, like a lot of people already said, a lot of airsoft stuff is "real" spec.  So, I believe a lot of people want something that is compatible with as much real stuff as possible, and this is actually one of the major reasons I'm interested in this. Lupus78
Besides, this RS spec grip is a lot more comfortable than the thick AEG grips.
Kai_Wolf
Hey Lupus, Just to be clear, the KAC RIS you bought (on the link you supplied on ebay), that fit the WE with no modification? It just snapped on? Thanks again!

happy.al
Sounds really good, if all people can complain about is the flash hinder thread being wrong, or they can't use their airsoft pistol grip, then this looks like a winner. Â Does anyone have a Sun Project M16 to compare it too? I wonder how the blowback is compared to a SP or an Escort? Is it useable in current UK weather? So far it's looking better than the WA.
