Kai_Wolf
I had a quick question for anyone who knows. Will a Dboys QD M203 launcher (non ris version) fit on the ring of the gun? I am going to buy that KAC Ris unit, but if I can use just the top handguard and put the dboys 203 on the bottom, I would be happy. I didnt know if the 203 would fit on the WE though since it is milspec. Â Also, for anyone who has tried it, I plan on using the G&P Peq II laser right mounted on the gun. I know the box is big, so will it interfer with an m203 QD that is mounted not on the RIS? I didnt know if the launcher's handguard would interfer with the PEQ. ianhaz
Any news on any aftermarket support for outer barrels yet? Would love to score one with standard 14mm -ve threads instead of the +ve ones it comes with. Also anyone know if the steel bolt catches are in circulation yet? Ive had a look through the last few pages, but this is rapidly becoming a very large thread to trawl through for info, so sorry if im repeating questions already asked. thatoneguy92088
Has anyone here bought a WE and had it last more than a couple games without needing a couple of new parts? This doesn't seem like a very wise investment so far.

I didnt know if the 203 would fit on the WE though since it is milspec. I have the Dboys QD metal M203. It fits fine if you remove the front sight and you slide the launcher from the barrel's end. And the QD mount attaches maybe a bit too front, not on the slot in the barrel, but I managed to snap it on fine and really tight. And you of course need to remove the sling swivel in front sight. I added some tape around the receiver end of the barrel to make it a bit tighter fit from that end too. Â Here's my WE M4A1 + Dboys M203 + KAC rail. Â Has anyone here bought a WE and had it last more than a couple games without needing a couple of new parts? This doesn't seem like a very wise investment so far. And WA M4 is? Or Systema PTW? Those are the only true alternatives for people who like these kinds of rifles. And if you use the charging handle with care and don't break it, only part that will break easily is the bolt stop in our early models with crappy pot metal stops. And you can play with the bolt stop disabled just fine. Plus, soon we will get new steel ones from Airsoft Buddy. That only leaves the weak charging handle and some minor tweaks you might want to do. Â For a $360 full metal GBB rifle with outstanding performance and just a few critical weak parts, this seems not a bad investment at all. Parts breaking when there are no replacements NOW would make me very nervous and very skeptical. I think this gun has potential, but until they are shipping with reinforced/steel parts it is not a wise investment NOW. Also are people using 134a or green gas? If its shooting 450 on green how many of you can actually use it at your site?  edit: You would have to a dumbass to get a WA M4. PTW at least works even though its overly expensive. Lupus78
Isn't the bolt stop one of the selling points? Parts breaking when there are no replacements NOW would make me very nervous and very skeptical. So far Airsoft Buddy has been VERY reliable on these matters. And all sources are telling us that WE is producing new guns with steel bolt stops and that we will also soon get those. And personally the whole idea in this gun is not a single feature like that. It's the whole package; firing with blowback, realistic operating, full metal feel, etc. Sure the weak bolt stop is annoying, but nothing a steel replacement wouldn't fix. And we WILL get those, so I'm not worried or skeptical about that. Â You would have to a dumbass to get a WA M4. PTW at least works even though its overly expensive. That's what I've figured. If you want a "wise investment", this one seems the only one in anywhere near the same category, if you're willing to accept that it's been only just a short while in production and is still waiting for aftermarket parts. But there's a whole industry ramping up for it as we speak. We've just heard of licensing KAC and the coming of other different trademarked versions. WE is also bringing whole series of bolt sets for different power settings (like PTW chambers). I suggest you catch up with the latest pages on this thread. There's a lot of information you might want to know if you're interested of this gun. Â And if you're still skeptical, it won't hurt to wait a little longer. I'm sure that pretty soon you'll get your perfected gun...
Pollux77
Talking about AB being reliable: 4boost and me both are concerned about this matter. We placed our orders more than a week ago and still no tracking number or reply whatsoever. I sent a new enquiry from a different emailaddress, which was ansered within 6 hours. Do any of you have similar experiences or did anyone order a gun from AB since Dec 05? Â Thx so far, Â Pollux Edited December 15, 2008 by Pollux77
Kai_Wolf
Thanks so much Lupus! Answers my questions! ALl you did was remove the lower KAC handguard and install it that way? Also, is it very secure to the gun? Or does it wobble (the dboys). I know it wasnt present on your gun, but judging from how far out the side rails come out, would a PEQ II box fit on one of the side rails without running into the handguard of the 203? Thanks again!   I have the Dboys QD metal M203. It fits fine if you remove the front sight and you slide the launcher from the barrel's end. I suppose this belongs more in the vendor feedback thread but won't get as much exposure as it would here...  This is the reply I received earlier today:  Sorry for my late reply. I promise that I will send you the tracking number tomorrow. Due to all special promotions are used by Air Mail, so the delivery lead time is around 1 - 2 weeks.  Sorry for keep you waiting and sorry for any inconvenience.  William Airsoft Buddy  Personally, I don't see where the "great" customer service is. When I order a $400 item, I want to get an invoice for ordering it. I want know how long it is going to take to ship, how long it will be in-transit, and a tracking number. I don't want to spend $400 on something only to see a debit in my account and nothing to show for it. Plus waiting a week to get a response is absolutely absurd. I replied to his email today almost instantly, asking if my gun had shipped only to get no response. I guess I'll be waiting a week for that reply...  I honestly wish I purchased from another retailer. I could have purchased from Gunner, paid $4 less and had my rifle by last Friday the latest via Speedpost (when I use Speedpost with DenTrinity, I get my package in 3 days). You can say all want about how it is the holidays and that the postal system is going to be jammed up. That's completely understandable and I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew that my package was actually shipped and could track it to my doorstep.  Anyway, I went with AB b/c everyone seemed to have a hastle-free transaction. If you're about to order one of these from AB, I suggest you wait to see how my and Pollux's transaction turns out or order from another retailer. uscmCorps
If AB is sending it via regular Airmail, I don't think the package can be tracked. *Maybe* if there was a customs form number. If there's no way to track the package then that means that if it went missing in the mail one or both parties will be SOL. Â p.s. Mail is really REALLY slow right now. Took me 8 days to send something from CA to NC via Priority Mail. I shudder to think how slow regular mail is.

This doesn't seem like a very wise investment so far. I know that WE GBB wasn't the most realistic looking M4 on the market but I can say it is the most skirmish-able GBB M4 so far. In my last GBB game I saw a few case that WA just refuse to shoot at the moment of truth and Inokatsu just turn into a BB shuttering machine. Yes, some parts will broke. However broken bolt lock and charging handle won't stop you from firing BB from the gun, furthermore it have the best after purchase services I have ever seen. ruchik
I think I remember AB saying that the steel bolt catches will be available late this month. I know it wasnt present on your gun, but judging from how far out the side rails come out, would a PEQ II box fit on one of the side rails without running into the handguard of the 203? Thanks again! Yes, it's just without the lower part. No modifications to any part (gun, launcher or RIS rail) were needed. Slide the launcher's rear attachment behind the front sight, then reattach the front sight. And after you've secured the laucher and front sight to the barrel, reattach the upper RIS rail unit as usual. After I added some tape around the base of the M4 barrel so that the rear end of the launcher fits more snugly around the barrel, it seemed really secure. Before that it could move around the barrel a little bit. Plus that tape should protect your outer barrel. In the laucher there's a small round nub that goes between the "teeth" of the barrel nut tightening ring (on the exact opposite side of the gas tube), so that should prevent any larger movement. Â I would guess that a PEQ II should fit fine on the side, since the KAC style RIS is rather wide sideways. There shouldn't be any problem fitting it. I'm actually planning to do that myself. Â PS. I would give a slack to AB. From what we know, he's pretty much a "one-man-show", unlike the huge shops like WGC, Redwolf or Gunner. The earlier experiences are from the time when I and some others ordered the gun when it just arrived, with a lot less orders per day than now. Even after that the feedback has been great (until lately when people have been waiting for response rather long times). People have gotten replacement parts if something has broken, as far as we know. At least no-one has complained so far... (Speak up if you haven't!) My gun is still ok (since I've disabled the bolt stop) so I can't really say from first hand experience. AB is just a small shop that's in direct contact with WE. I've heard that William (running the AB shop) is a friend of the WE boss or something, which is why he's been able to give such a great feedback between us and the WE. Considering he's just begun his shop and I bet there's been quite a rush for these guns lately (adding to the seasonal rush), so he's most likely quite busy now... mrk
Got my WE M4 last week. It seems that I'm having a stupid problem with it. When I reload the gun the pin in the magwell that pushes the valve on the magazine doesn't always go all the way back and thus it's not firing properly. And this has only occured when I manually reload the gun. I might get some propper grease for it to see if it sorts it out. Â Any how here is my baby fitted with G&P RAS & AN-PEQ, Trijicon ACOG, Surefire M951 and Eagle 3-pt sling. Â Haven't skirmished with this and I'm not planning to until we get those Co2 magazines. If they work I just may have to sell my PTW's

I've found that if you release the bolt with the button after it's locked back, it seems to snap the pin back. But if you release the bolt gently with handle, it stays in forward position. I've lubed the thing after removing the pin cover (with the two screws on it) and it seems to work a bit better. Â Here's one suggested fix for the problem. I havent done anything to it yet, since I usually just make sure the pin is armed before using the gun. Edited December 16, 2008 by Lupus78
