WE Gas Blow Back M4A1 Carbine

Recommended Posts

I just got my WE M4, well, not really. What I got is Socom Gear's Noveske N4 GBB. I've brought it down to user-level maintenance take down and everything pretty much looks the same with the WE M4, as most have already suspected. What I'm still speculative about is that in some sites, the Socom Gear N4 is said to be equipped with stronger internals. I know the bolt stop just passed the magnetic test, but I have no way in telling what other parts, if any, are made stronger.

To WETTI:

Would you kindly clear up what your arrangement with Madbull/Socom Gear is with regards to the M4 GBB? I have difficulty in telling who made what in my rifle.

I have one and the only difference is the receiver and the flash hider.

I understand that AB is a retailer, but he has repeatedly suggested that he has very close ties to WE and the development of your products. If this is incorrect I do apologize for the mistake. Up until now I have had nothing but good things to say about AB and have done several transactions with them. This last transaction simply leads me to believe that the great service we all received early on was simply a ploy to get us hooked. In my current state I am left with a gun in need of parts that I have paid for but have yet to see or hear about. I would simply like a reply from AB in regards to my parts. I will probably hang up my gun until such time as reliable product support can be had once again (if ever).

Hi hazmatt,

I understand what you trying to say, but I simply comment on behalf of AB. But one thing for certain: WE will NOT let you down in terms of parts & service after the sales of the gun; I'm sure there're those who would testify about my service & response to their needs. I'm currently in the process of setting up service/parts centers worldwide in cooperations with major local retailers; these will be the WE-authorized parts/service centers. I'll publish the list as soon as they're set to go (I've just finished the parts list quotation). You can also check for update on the list by logging in on our soon-to-be released new website (www.weairsoft.com).

Again, I truly understand your dilemma; so if you would, pls PM me with your need & I see what I can do to speed things up for you, alright?

Btw, if any of you know of a retailer near your home town that you would want to carry your AWSS M4's parts, pls feel free to pass on the above info. & have them get in touch with me. I'm open to all wholesale inquiries.

When someone recieves their aluminum bolt, please tell us how it works out.

Id let you know, except Im in the same boat as Hazmatt,.....Ive been waiting >forever< for this order from AB.

William has emailed me back. And apoligized for the delay.

But Im still waiting.

Renegade,

"Equipped with stronger internals"....ha! What a laugh. These retailers will say anything to get the sale. So many people are selling the WE now, very competitive. The only difference in all of these versions has been the "shell" the WE guts are inside of.

The WE/modified Escort gas system is so simple and strong, there is nothing to strengthen.

The charging handle and hop-up? Well, thats a different story.

Hi renegadecow,

WETTI-AFC Custom has no relationship with Madbull/SOCOM gear. We did not supply our guns to them for making the N4s. In another word, your gun could not possibly be the 'pro-series AFC Custom version' (anodized receivers + extra CQBR barrel) distributed by WETTI exclusively. The other version is the generally available "toy/export version" (painted receivers, no extra barrels) distributed by toy exporters/importers.

Even though I cannot comment on your N4 fairly without looking at it, but if they indeed are using the "toy version" for the conversion, then I do not see any reason why there would be any 'stronger' internals in their guns unless they make special parts to strengthed the internals themselves before selling it to you. If I were you, I would find out more by inquiring about that aspect with Madbull (or where you purchase the gun from). I would also strongly suggest that you bring up this question on the sites that you mentioned above; I'm actually curious about the answers as well. ;)

Regarding a cheap source of Krytox, after some heavy duty googling I found a lubricant for bikes called Krytex. Its meant for bike chains and pedals but contains the magic stuff. It also includes something called Molybdenum which apparently is used in real steel guns! A bottle costs about £4 for 60ml.

The shop is cyclestore.co.uk

Would be grateful if the more mechanical/scientifically gifted WE M4 users would confirm if this would work or feel free to tell me i'm just p***ing in the wind!!

WETTI any updates on the new hop-up? and are there goingto be new barrels as well?

NO update yet as of now; but the factory ppl are indeed working on it. One good news: I've already gotten inquiry by several barrel makers to start making afrer-market 'ultra precision' barrels for our new hop-up system. One of them is EDgi :)

Just a bit of correction: A STEEL gas nozzle will replace the current one very soon.

might be best to removed the very end bits of the clamp on the ris that sits under the barrel nut !

makes it much easier to fit and just as solid ;)

Thanks for the info. When you say the end bits of the clamp...are you talking about the inside that makes contact witht the teeth of the barrel nut, or the edge that lies underneathth the delta ring? Thanks again!

Shown are prototypes, all tested on my personal weapon yesterday during skirmish. Works great without any issues all day. The bolt catch is particularly sweet!! Well..... everything's VERY sweet ... & I ain't giving these back!!!

T.S. Custom is now a WETTI-approved 3rd-party custom manufacturer of after-market improvement parts for WE's products.

OK, here's what T.S. Custom will be releasing very shortly (starting next week ):

(1) Steel hammer + steel disconnector set

(2) Steel match triggers (in 2-3 different styles)

(3) Anti-rotation pins (2 types) - these actually work to prevent the trigger set front pin from loosening due to vibration. A must-have item!!

(4) Steel ambidextrous safety - just lovely!!

(5) Trigger guards (2-3 styles) - drop in replacement, very comfy!!

(6) Totally-redesigned bolt catch for the magazine (drop-in replacement) - we're especially excited about this!! This thing assures 100% bolt lock after last round by providing a 'flat' , larger contact surface with the bolt, thus eliminating the chance of any wear on both contact areas. These will come in 3-packs & will costs less than USD10.00/pack

(7) Selected copies of the counter-weighted M4 spring guides (2 versions) - these will 'increase' as well as 'solidify' the recoil feeling of the gun. Depending on the power level of your gun, one of these versions will give optimized result.

(8) Custom lower receivers in different markings (either laser or engraved) - all anodized finished. Rumored designated markings incl. "DD", "MK18 Mod0", "Stag Arms", etc... (feel free to give suggestions here, people )

(9) CNC upper & lower receivers set(s) in T-7075 aircraft-grade aluminum - No speculations here, but I'm getting serial # 0001 on the style I want. I'll leave this as a VERY, VERY pleasant surprise to everyone later on!

Otto

Thanks. :)

I haven't had a chance to take the barrel apart yet, but when I do I'll look for the bearing. I never noticed it being in there the very first time I took it apart and it was still firing normal when I put it back together, so I'll have to see. It is the only thing that makes sense now, though.

If it is in fact missing, is there an everyday item I can use as a replacement?

It also includes something called Molybdenum which apparently is used in real steel guns! A bottle costs about £4 for 60ml.

Generally as long as it doesn't contain petroleum (it usually says contains petroleum distillates on the container) it should be okay. I would get it and try it on something else before putting any on anything important.

The molybdenum thing is kind of interesting, the Wiki article makes it out to be another semi-hi-tech lubricant. Not sure how well it would work with airsoft stuff though.

My forward assist button keeps popping off when fired and see people say they have glued it in place.

But could tell me please what part you have glued an to where?

Does this mean it will no longer work?

All help appreciated :)

If you pop it off and look into the spot in the receiver that it fits into, you'll see a small square bar of metal sticking out which will also be attached to some other metal bits. There will also be a small square slot on the inside of your FA knob. Basically you just put a bit of glue (I recommend using some sort of 5-minute epoxy or something similar) in that square slot and then properly align and press together the square metal assembly and the knob.

You'll probably need to pop the pin that holds the assembly in and pull it (the FA assembly) out. It's really likely that the two pieces are covered in dirt and oil, which would be bad for the epoxy. Just wash the two parts in hot soapy water and quickly towel dry. Then you can glue them together, lightly oil, and re-install. Be sure to make note of the direction of the angled bit of the forward assist bar before you take anything apart.

I'm also using a bike grease called 'Buzzies Slick Honey'. Its a shock grease that I used to use in my high end paintball guns. Good stuff, its ultra slick.
