Break100
So how was it with the Stinger hop up kit, is it suitable for ver1 inner barrel or do I have to get a ver2 to go along with it? Or better yet, is there any news on AEG hop up? Stinger hop up will fit the 2nd or latest gen inner similar to this one
kojak
What Lube is everyone using on their metal to metal contacts? Silicone grease is OK but when I've used it on the bolt it feels sticky and slow. Slip2000 EWL is the way to go--slicker than silicone oil and longer lasting than grease, plus dirt won't stick to it. Ive read elsewhere that using gun oil on a GBBR is a bad idea as it can ruin the seals.
somegirls
I use this stuff for my pistol slides. http://www.airpistol.co.uk/abbey_moly_g-n_paste.html Stays in place and doesn't become sticky after time.
Ion
Well, I figure this is the right place to ask. I'm pretty dead set on picking up a WE 416 (traded version). But I'm a little confused. There is a WE 416 on Ehobby that lists it as a "version 2" that says the following: New Version 2 Feature-- Steel made Nozzle -- Dual O-Ring Sealing -- Provide better performance of air sealing WGC Shop's 416 doesnt mention anything about theirs being a "Version 2" or anything about a steel nozzle. Are both 416s "Version 2"s? Or are there differences and revisions in the WE 416 line as well? And if there are, are these revisions just internal or external too? They are both the same price. Sorry for the WE nubness, I just want to be sure I ahve all the facts before I buying the 416.
kojak
Ive read elsewhere that using gun oil on a GBBR is a bad idea as it can ruin the seals. I've heard that too; not sure what it has to do with my post. EWL isn't "gun oil".
renegadecow
Are both 416s "Version 2"s? Same stuff. The 416(8) came much later and already has all the "upgrades" to it mainly: -steel CO2 compatible nozzle -stronger charging handle -nozzle alignment thingamabob
Reppyboyo
I've heard that too; not sure what it has to do with my post. EWL isn't "gun oil". What would you call it then? Got myself a small bottle of normal Slip2000 and I must say Im impressed. The action of my PDW is far smoother than when lubed with Dow33. A few drops of the stuff goes a long way. EDIT: In saying that, I still used dow33 on the nozzle and o-rings to be on the safe side. Edited August 11, 2010 by Reppyboyo

Megalomaniac
Rather dumb question but could a real steel stripped lower be easily fitted with a WE FCG and buffer and used with a WE Upper?
renegadecow
You'd have to machine out the space where the valve knocker goes. But you'd be treading dangerous waters as it would technically classify your carbine as a real gun and would be subject to barrel length legalities as well.
Megalomaniac
True, I was just thinking of using a Spikes Tactical lower in a WE GBBr build a some point since they can be had for pretty cheap (even after the FFL) and are higher quality than any airsoft receiver. danielsilva
So what do you get by mixing an early WE M4 GG mag and Guarder GG ? That's right .. A FREAKING BOMB ! A few scratches on the hand and leg plus some soiled underpants but it's all good.
LordElpus
Is it the Black can guarder gas fro Fire Support? Edited August 22, 2010 by LordElpus
danielsilva
Is it the Black can guarder gas fro Fire Support? Correct. I bought the 2L canisters, they give me an average of ~20fps more than the Coleman Propane i usually use.
LordElpus
That isn't Green Gas, in fact it's closer to Red gas. It's pressure is a fair bit higher at 20C than normal Green. Might be the reason...

weekenny
How are the V3 M4's holding up with constant Co2 use??
danielsilva
How are the V3 M4's holding up with constant Co2 use?? Stock ? They will chew themselves rapidly. If you want to use Co2 without issues you'll have to do the following: 1) Buy an steel ( CWI or Ra-Tech ) trigger group 2) Buy the reinforced steel nozzle from Ra-Tech 3) Buy the reinforced Ra-Tech firing pin + valve knocker 4) Perform the mod as shown here, http://gasguns.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=3911 My M16 has all these and after mora than 10k rounds of Co2 it still fully working without any part breaking
weekenny
Thanks for the advice, how costly are those parts?
danielsilva
Thanks for the advice, how costly are those parts? All Ra-tech parts, £88.

Altango14
Hi Guys, Got a question about Stinger hop-up here. Based on your experiences, what weight of BBs work best with Stinger? I recently installed mine with a round rubber spacer and two plastic shims that came with the kit. Tested it with 0.3g BBs, but could not seem to generate any hop even with the adjuster turned all the way to the end. I'd tried 0.2g BBs after that but it was getting dark and I couldn't quite tell where they went... :-p... Any insights that you can share will be very much appreciated please...
