jkpics
One or two 0,01mm 6mm OD 3mm ID, the pin is only 2mm and the normal shim hole is 3mm so no problems. I am only able to fit 1 shim in newer WE guns.

M_P
Had a bit of an issue with my hop on my new m4, it has an affect but not much, is this likely to be a case of needing to be worn in and increasing a fair bit? The accuracy is bang on just range could do with a boost- would it benefit from having a large number of mags emptied through it?
Siavash
What make is the Hop?
M_P
All stock WE. It's not awful range, usable but still not what I've come to expect from other WE rifles Edited September 2, 2014 by M_P
NonEx
Strip it appart, clean, and re-lube (not just hop unit, entire gun!). Wipe out the hop rubber. Then run 10-20 magazines through it and then start worrying about tweaking it Advice from someone who does not shoot much nor play airsoft

Siavash
Loool that makes sense
NonEx
Not very easy to know. I usually have to shine a flashlight down the barrel and see where it's at max and then adjust from there. Glad you got it!
thatguy404
Quick question the M4a1 lengths, do they use a CQB-R inner barrel length with an outer barrel extension?Ta
Brigg
No, the inner barrel is the full length of the barrel including extension.
thatguy404
Does the extension come off just past the triangle sight? A 4inch extension I assume:
NightFury
My M4 began to have weaker recoil so I thought the problem was light striking. I switched out the trigger box with a replacement trigger box and the nothing changed. Should I consider the RaTech trigger box?
Brigg
If you changed it out and nothing happened then it isnt your trigger box. Its likely something related to either the nozzle and flute valve assemble, or your magazines. To a lesser extent you could also be loosing compression at the hopup bucking which apparently can have an effect on blowback. Also clean it out. a lot. disassemble it completely and completely clean the bolt, the inside of the upper receiver, and inside the buffer tube.
jkpics
Sounds like a broken nozzle, or maybe the buffer came apart and is draggin on the walles of the buffer tube.
NightFury
Nozzle is still intact. No wear, I recently did maintenance and everything's lubed up. Buffer is fine, recently changed out to a fresh recoil spring. And i don't think I'm losing compression on the hop up, my fps is consistent. Deviation is about 1-3 fps variance. I think it's possible that even though I replaced the trigger box the valve knocker spring might have been left compressed. When I received the box the hammer was already locked back. Either that or since I've been using my AK, I forgot if my M4 always felt like that.
jkpics
Well the AK does blowback a lot harder, that might be it
NonEx
I can confirm that. The AK is cray cray! Edited September 19, 2014 by NonEx
NightFury
Well, I don't want my M4 to go to waste so I guess I should consider upgrading now. I've kept it stock for 50k rounds, I just haven't been playing with it much since I got the AK. I think a RAT speed buffer, steel bolt, and RAT trigger box should do it. Probably also grab a steel hop unit and a hard bucking so my full auto doesn't send bbs all willy nelly. How's that sound guys?
NonEx
Sounds like trouble to me but I suck at installing internal parts so. My philisophie has always been run the stock internals until they break, then replace with OEM parts until you can't get them any longer, then look at upgrade/steel parts... jkpics
The new Hammerson combat buffers look really nice.
NightFury
Well, first things first. Money. It's always the bane of airsoft.
NonEx
So you're saying you have too much money, or what ?
Brigg
To be honest the WE stock internals tend to last so long that there's very little reason to upgrade them. The roller can come out of the hammer but it can be retained with a small machine screw and nut. Ive done this on a friends fcg and it has worked with no issues. You just have to make sure they fit inside the bolt cutout.
