FireKnife
Vomit ensues. Bet it would also feature Brit stuff, with all those lampshades in the way, the slow movement and the cheesy music made by an out of work artist. Is it me or do us Brits even fail at adult entertainment. 'FireKnife'
Abelius
I hear experience talking. Why don't we have this stuff? All we have is Sociology, Archeology and such.
FireKnife
Yep, i have watched porn in my time and i don't care, name one red-blooded male that hasn't, ever. But this is just daft. 'FireKnife'
slu
This must be a joke article. What is there to study about porn, I mean the purpose is quite clear.
FireKnife
It has turned up on two-three different sites, all legit it seems. It may just be a vendor qualification like you get in other subjects. Or Thailand needs more porn directors? 'FireKnife
-Angel-
It seems to be a socialogy based course more than anything, analysing an audience's reactions.

DarkLite
Eh. I was toying with the idea of studying Sexology when I was switching out of my Mechanical Engineering Bachelor, but in the end I decided it was a bit too specific - so instead I'm doing Psychology first, then seeing whether I should specialize. Hammerfall
I'm doing a media module, as something extra toward my degree. Essentially just to see if i want to do it as a minor. Anyway, there is a huge section on porn in that, literally most of a semester, so i don't really see why this is so weird... I've got some media books that have all the details. No pictures, but quite a lot of detail. I guess in my course it is all about learning about the morality, representation, women as commodity... you know all that boring stuff. Then there is study of camera angles and ######, i know the lecturer must dread teaching that

Steel Rayne
Well that pretty much ended it.... To be honest, i can see it being a valid art form to study... other forms of entertainment are studied and disected... why is this any different? just because its socially taboo? Why? all things that it can answer imo... The reasons, the motivations, the feminist issues raised, the general social issues raised... There are a lot of issues around porn, and not just, as most here crudely put it, the 'literal' aspects. Yes, gangbang... what does working in porn do to someones head? Thier morality? thier sense of self? I would think this is more sociology than vocational. Interesting however.

Well, as DL quite rightly says there is a specific study of what 'turns us on' amongst other things.
FireKnife
You know often colleges try and bring in people that have moved on to work from your subject, what if they did that for this. Rocco and Eva Angelina turn up at your college for a day. Now who wants to sign up? 'FireKnife'
