weekenny
When doing the shrink wrap mod make sure that the arm still moves freely and there are no rough edges to the part it moves within. mine needed the shrink wrap rubbed down a little with a needle file to get the movement smooth. weekenny
Ok quick hop guide, excuse the quality of the photo's. I had to remove some of the shrink wrap on mine as it was over hopping 0.25's with the hop off.  First remove the upper and bolt assembly, then the hand guards and flash hider (small allen screw). Then knock out these two pins  Slide the front sight off and remove the gas tube (slide out). Next remove the barrel nut with the supplied tool   Slide off the barrel assembly, then flip over and remove this screw and the hop dial   Remove this spacer   Remove this screw (obscured by flash sorry)   Remove the part that secures the hop arm should just drop out   Part shown removed with hop arm held in correct place. Make sure your wrapped arm swings freely through the part that holds it.   To reassemble simply reverse the procedure. If you keep the upper upside down the hop spring should remain in place.  Hope this helps. Edited September 14, 2010 by weekenny

t_hum
Anyone have interest in me making some "enhanced" hop arms to fix this hop issue and eliminate the need for the arm mod?

DesertFox
I second that, maybe allow it to use better aeg hop up bucking?
t_hum
Thats more a function of the housing and not so much the arm.

weekenny
I'd fit a revised arm too if you make them. I prefer parts that suit rather than mods where possible.

poopstania
Why did you go with the DDM4 instead of LaRue? Â Looks really rad, though. A classy rifle, all in all.
PapayaSalad
poopstania, It was cheaper . I wasn't really going for a specific theme/brand either. Just wanted to make it look like a DMR.
sirrith
Will it be something H shaped?

Roman!
Looks beautiful Pappaya!!!! Â T_Hum, my paypal account is sitting on go. Just give the word
Andrew12
Will it be something H shaped? Â I doubt it. Â The way the KJW Hop up bucking works is by applying pressure evenly across the ball that is molded on the hopup bucking. An H or V or "SCS" type shape would probably not work because of the hardness and design of this bucking. Â Correct me if I am wrong. Â For anyone who was interested in the metal uppers, I'll have a price shipped to the US within a few days, for anyone who missed that post, PM me and I will write you down for a quote. Â T_Hum, Â What about an Improved hopup wheel to allow finer adjustments? Possibly a few more steps instead of just 6..
Rookie Ab
+1, for the hop up wheel. Maybe they could come as a set.

Shadow_Ocelot
Any more information on that plastic upper yet? How easy was it to install everything? How well is it holding up / how does it look on the rifle? Â I want to know if it is worth it to build my full second upper with a plastic upper, so I can just swap my bolt back and forth for my different gats!
t_hum
Â Sorry for the bad quality. Still need to get some really small dowel pins before I install it. You may notice the front bulb is larger on the revised part. This should allow the hop to be actuated more fully. Testing results coming...
