Roman!
WOW! The news on the mags is EXTREMELY promising!
t_hum
Mag volumes are as follows. These are reference numbers. My design hasn't been finalized and we are working to bump the volume number up by a fair amount. Also, keep in mind that the KJW reservoir is unusually huge.  KJW - 75 cc Cradle - 42 cc (hope to get this up to the 50-55 range) WA HD - 48 cc  Part of the reason the reservoir runs at the small side of the range is because of our requirements to keep them absolutely leak proof and also be pressure rated far in excess of what the magazines are typically pressurized to. That limited our choices for both material and size. For instance, there is only one seal in the entire mag and it is a flat cut gasket. The vessels are rated in excess of 1000 PSI and the valve is rated for 300 operational PSI.  The valve we are spec'ing is very unlike your typical airsoft mag valve. The pressure required to open the valve remains constant despite what pressure the mag is running at internally. So the force required to open the valve is the same on 134a as it is on red gas. That means no light strikes for guys who run higher pressure gasses. Also, these valves have very high flow rates. Combined with short passage lengths between valve and piston cup I hope these are gas efficient overall. Edited October 22, 2010 by t_hum
suicidalsnowman
Wow, its nice no see someone with expertise taking a shot at redesigning the magazine to improve performance. Â Any rough ideas on price yet?
t_hum
Not yet. My hope is to do these for around $55 with the shells. We will see if I can hit that mark. I wouldnt expect much higher or lower than that in any case.
Roman!
In theory at least, if KWA's M4 was ever approved for the civilian market (A big if under the current administration) then there might be a kit for the KWA M4 someday? I guess the biggest limiter for you would be market size. Unless the KWA establishes itself with large numbers in the market the level of demand would never justify the capital investment. t_hum
The mags are pretty modular in design. If the KJW doesnt end up taking WA mags outright it wouldn't be much to modify the design. Minor retooling is acceptable but if they went crazy and did something completely new it might be tough to justify.
Shadow_Ocelot
Another idea to consider for your mags is giving a replacement spring or a spacer that would regulate the ammo amount per mag down to 30, for us losers who enjoy having MIL ammo counts  The magazines sound promising, expect another PM from me . t_hum
Ill consider it. The other option is to load 30 rounds....
weekenny
They sound great. However will they also boost the fps given the high flow valve? As I'd like to be able to run a mixture of mags but still maintain the fps I've set.
t_hum
They aren't particularly higher flow than your typical large valve. Testing will determine if there is a difference. I only mentioned it because it's been tough to find a suitable valve in a decent flow rate.
JLiu
I'm having trouble removing the flash hider. I've twisted it counter clockwise for many rotations without any signs of improvement. Any thoughts? Â Edit: Just noticed a screw. Allen key required? Edited October 24, 2010 by JLiu
suicidalsnowman
If you've loosened the grub screw then the flash hider is just sitting on a brass sleeve. If you re-tighten the grub screw the flash hider and brass thread underneath will come off.
Roman!
Stupid question of the day, I was going to swap out the inner barrel with a tight bore. How is the best way to do this? Does the inner barrel remove the same way as it does on an AEG?
Shadow_Ocelot
Posted a while back I believe: Â Â That's barrel installation.

Does the inner barrel remove the same way as it does on an AEG? Â You will need to buy a barrel from T Hum or have him modify an existing barrel. AEG barrels do not work. Roman!
I already have a tightbore from T-Hum. That is why I was asking to find the best way to put it in! Edited October 24, 2010 by Roman!
Lupus78
The mag development sounds REALLY promising! Can't wait to get some pmags...
aznbebes
Honestly, I feel like a TOTAL loser reading the whole 153 pages of this thread, but in return knowledge has showed up for me. Knowledge is power, right? I joined Arnies for the sole purpose to learn about the KJW/TK GBBR, thanks for all this valuable info and also for keeping the thread alive guys, it means alot. Â ANYWAYS, I have honestly still had a few questions unanswered. Â 1) Will a normal VLTOR Emod Stock for an AEG fit this buffer tube? If anybody has some info, just let me know. 2) Should I rather order from U.S. dealer like Airsplat, or an Asian Dealer? Â Thanks again guys. It means alot. -Azn
t_hum
If you are stateside, buy from airsplat. Theyve been easy to buy from and work with in the past. I highly recommend them for buying a KJW. Â The buffer tube is milspec dimensions. An AEG spec stock should fit.
weekenny
I have a Vltor AEG stock on mine. A little electrical tape on the inside to take out a little wobble but no different to you'd expect to have to do when fitting to an AEG.
Mental Medic
Buffer isn't mil-spec. My RS CTR's friction lock doesn't stop the wobble. It's AEG spec.
t_hum
You may be right. My point should have been milspec fits.

Kai_Wolf
Curious, how has the plastic upper receiver been holding up. I remember seeing someone on here with one and I just wanted to know feel differences, quality of the plastic, and how it has been holding up under use.
