hwagan
Propane and gg are the same chemically. The difference is that propane is dry and smells like a fat chicks crotch and green gas has silicone oil and a much nicer aroma. The key difference is the silicone oil; When it's mixed in with the gas, it gets on the hop rubber and can cause instability in the BB's flight; Propane is better for this reason, you'll just need to remember to use lube more often on the mags and seals. KAG
First wintergame with my KJW M4 was OK. Temp was about 40 F, the rifle did OK inspite the cold weather. No problems exept that the hop-up was impossible to set with white ammo and the snow. Since my hop only moves in the last 3-4 settings it´s not that perfect in the summer either. Anyway, played 2 games with my KJW and 2 games with my AEG (same problem to set the hop here - snow and white BB = ).

Which part of the mag and seals? Could you give me a specific way to lube them?(like put 2 drops on valve and let it go inside)
t_hum
I was hoping to get some feedback from you chaps about what level of completeness you would like from the carriers. Right now we are planning on offering 3 levels: I. Carrier and Buffer Set - This is the billet carrier (7075-T6, TYPE III Hard Ano) and a new buffer that allows you to adjust your weight (also from billet). The base price is TBD. II. Carrier and Buffer and Piston - Same as above but with the Cradle X-Ring Piston with a matching hard anodize to match the carrier. $20 more than level I. III. Complete Carrier - This is a drop in carrier with all the associated piston cup parts, springs, velocity reducer, piston, and buffer. (If you have your own piston already you will be able to order setup III. without one) With the piston this would be about $70 more than level I. Thanks for your feedback. Prices to come within the next week.
Roman!
I would take one level 3 carrier. I have a second KJW M4 that I am waiting to drop it into.
frogfish
for me it would all be based on how much level 1 will cost. if the BC and buffer is $20, then I'd just go for that and swap my own parts into it. If level 1 is $200 then I'd just save up the money and get a level 3 so I have two complete BCGs just in case. Edited March 22, 2011 by frogfish
DesertFox
I'd take 1 lvl III carrier
elanaiba
I'd take a level 3 carrier, but note I don't have a rifle yet - waiting for your magazines

You'll be looking at about £40 per mag, give or take a fiver. I have five mags and I've never actually gone through all of them in a game though.

frogfish
Just to put some more info out there about sling plate options, I picked up one of the GG&G agency sling mounts http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=511838 (except i got it from OPTactical who no longer has any in stock) Fits perfectly and there is no damage to the castle nut. Will post up if I have any other issues with it.

t_hum
Hate to push but any word on STANAG mags? Still working on them. Mags are a huge project and neither of us two owners run the business full-time so we have to tackle as much as we can while also running the daily operations of the business, machining parts, etc. We also do contract design, engineer, and machining work for other industries so there is a lot on our plates all the time. Having said that, we are still making good progress. Ill update everyone as soon as I have something worthy of noting.
frogfish
T_Hum, I like to hear stuff like this Mags are a huge project and neither of us two owners run the business full-time so we have to tackle as much as we can while also running the daily operations of the business, machining parts, etc. We also do contract design, engineer, and machining work for other industries so there is a lot on our plates all the time. Good to know you guys won't be closing shop anytime soon. I've dealt with Escort who were like you guys but focused more on airsoft, one day they just stopped talking to everyone, I assume they closed down the airsoft side of things, took a lot of my money with them. t_hum
We maintain a wide variety of jobs to diversify for stability. We have no intention of closing up anytime soon. The projects for the KJW are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many products that are designed and tested for other platforms and will roll into production as we make headway on these immediate projects that require less setup time and cost. t_hum
Frogfishes upper on the Bridgeport mill receiving the TDC hop mod. We are considering offering this as a service now to KJW users. Let me know if you're interested. If so we can figure out what shipping costs would be as it will be different from the flat rate envelopes we use for most orders. frogfish
I will be testing this as soon as I get it in, the last member reported significant change but with a very limited data set. I hopefully will be able to provide more detail and a larger data set, I will be testing with KSC perfect .25s, G&G .28s, and KSC perfect .30s. Before I sent my upper to T_Hum my KJW was shooting ~340FPS with KSC perfect .25s getting about 200ft of flat trajectory and BBs landing at about 220ft with no rise in flight. I'm hoping to get the same out of .28s or .30s with the mod. I will post images with range estimates as I can not perfectly range my shots where I am, but I get about a +/- 5-10ft margin or error depending on conditions. I have my GPS google earth, an anemometer and a xcoretech x3200 all set up and ready to go as soon as I get this in, I've also cleaned my hop-up recently using a new method. I'll go into more detail in my review, I'll also list all the parts I have. T_hum, looks great, and the new jig/vice/whatever it's called looks good to. Can't wait to get this in and I am very excited about the new products after our talk. Edited March 24, 2011 by frogfish
