Gentner91
Autumns, this was the rig I was trying to compare to the blackhawk model. I didnt realize at the time that the blackhawk was a individual FAK not a "squad" one like the NA Rescue. http://www.narescue....BC=3000250D2301 Pics and the Specs shows 2 ETD's being used within one section as well as 4 S Rolls and 2 CATS. Pkekyo-Nor
The start of my new FAK: NARP Warrior Aid and Litter Kit - WALK. Once I've completed it it'll be pretty extensive, but that's the way I like it, I suppose :> Will be resting comfortably in the back of my car permanently in addition to the obviously awesome airsoft aspect. Soba
Fair warning. Those packs get really heavy once you put the litter in it

Pkekyo-Nor
Yeah, about that NARP WALK bag.... It's certainly getting a run for it's money - just picked up my new SKEDCO SOF Mobility CASEVAC kit this morning! I'm just completely stunned at the ingenuity of this thing, and I keep discovering new pocket with nifty little doohickeys in them! Considering I paid the fraction of the price of a new one, with it's only defect of sorts is that the bag itself is a bit diry, I'm more than thrilled with this one. atf343
Hi, the first-aid discussion page seems to be down or the links provided on this page is broken. In any case, don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I wish to ask: The blackhawk medical pouch that looks like this: http://www.blackhawk.com/product/STRIKE-Medical-Pouch,1324,55.htm Did it ever come with the tan zips? Thanks (To Pkekyo Nor: congrats on your WALK and CASEVAC packs, now -that- is a med pack. Compares to IFAK's like M60's to Uzi's, lol) Edited July 14, 2010 by atf343

mattyw
^ very good but the person needs more moaning and screaming , a shot to the sholder would not instanly kill a man but they might go into shock. sorry if it is wrong but many medics keep telling me this will happen. DKruse
As a reminder, anything besides BASIC first aid equipment should only be carried by trained (defined by the state/country you live in) and it is recommended that you take some type of training class (it's not the basic courses are really expensive anyway). Now for my gear, and I apologize for the many pictures(and the size... my camera sucks and I can't edit anything with this computer please let me know if the auto-resize doesn't work for you guys, I'll just provide links, but by thursday I should have access to a computer that can re-size stuff)... but I even left some stuff out. As a side note, this is my BLS kit I carry while airsofting(for the most part), in my car, and in the trunk at work, which hopefully explains the amount of stuff (also note that I'm an EMT): The bags: Left is the BLS kit bag, I forget what brand/model, but I do know there are some replicas very similar to it made now-a-days, it's held up nice and has easily accessible pockets. Right is the IFAK/Blow out kit. This one I carry everywhere and is on a easy-access side pouch of my duty bag. It contains the essentials for a gunshot wound(since I have an increased likelihood of those). Since it's sealed and I don't like to waste tags, I didn't take pictures whats inside. But it contains: 2x Petroleum gauze (two different sizes) 1x 2" tape 4x 4x4s 2x 5x8s 1x tourniquet 1x pair nitrile gloves(black) 2x QuickClot among some other things I'm forgetting. It needs to be checked in December, if I remember I'll take photos of whats inside.... it's just a basic kit though with a OEM velcro which fit the pouch and the pictured orange trauma sheers perfect. Now to the BLS kit, as I said, some things I left out to save room... Pocket 1(smallest top outside)/2(bottom outside): 1(left) Contains: 1x 5.11 Traffic Vest 2x Medium Bio Bags 1x Leatherman Multi-tool 2(right) Contains: 1x bottle Aleve(for personal consumption, I do not hand out these for ANYONE) 1x eye wash bottle (in a separate bag for good reason... it seemed to have been squished a bit too much and leaked). 1x WaterJel Burn Jel Plus 1x Ivarest Foaming spray(for poison ivy/oak... we have a lot of that in Wisconsin) 1x Benadryl Spray (same thing, plus other allergic reactions) 1x Thermometer(oral) with many covers 1x pair nitrile gloves 1x Nuva Care antiseptic spray 1x Red lighstick (not pictured: 1x ice pack, 1x blood clean up kit) Pocket 3(middle medium): Contains: 1x disposable pen light 1x trauma sheers(blue) 1x 2" tape 3x pocket/hand warmers(more not pictured) 6x pair nitrile gloves(4 pair blue, 1 pair purple, 1 pair black, each are by thickness, blue being thinnest and black thickest). 1x one-time ice pack 4x 5x8 combine pads 4x 4x4s 2x non-stick pads 1x WaterJel Burn Dressing (arm length) assorted bandaids(yellow taped ziplock bag) assorted extra gauze/tape/bandages(blue ziplock bag) 1x flashlight, with blue and red lenses 1x NPA plus KY(I don't like to carry airways, but I threw this one in because I got it in a pre-made kit a while ago) Assorted wipes(antiseptics, soap, iodine, sting-ease swabs) 3x roller gauze (3 more sterile not pictured) 1x assorted tools (tweezers, hemostats, scissors) assorted oral intakes (mineral supplements for dehydration, individual non-aspirin and Aleve, but I only give that stuff to personal friends after they answer some strict questions... I don't like giving meds to people). Not pictured: 1x 12x30 trauma pad, 2x petroleum gauze, 3x ice packs, 2x QuickClot Pocket 4(large/rear): 1x SAM Splint (1x SAM II on order) 1x BP cuff(non latex) 1x Pocket mask w/ O2 inlet assorted triangle bandages/ACE bandages(I carry many more ACE bandages, but we use those for airsoft "bandages") 2x ice packs 2x finger splints(disposable, different sizes) 1x space blanket 1x Stethoscope 1x OD cloth(for many applications) Not pictured: 2x Disposable Cervical Collars And this is the bag while on my back: Side note about the ice packs: I live in Wisconsin, USA. We have cold winters and hot summers. It's perfect... the problem is we all are stupid when it comes to the middle of summer because we don't understand the thing called hot weather, so we have a lot of heat cases. Now that it's getting cold and since I have things apart, I'll likely remove some ice packs and add some heat packs(we've had practices in 0 degrees and played in 28 degree raining). Sorry for the length of description. Please feel free to PM me about specifics/thoughts/tips.
Pkekyo-Nor
Thread revival again. I pretty much always have a combination of the following on or near me. I don't carry OPA/NPAs and IV gear, as I've only once had introductory instructions on it, and rather stick with what I know. I carry the stuff in one or more of these carriers. The right side pouch on the SKEDCO pack stays empty in case one would need to carry IVs, OPA/NPAs or whatever might catch one's fancy. The SKEDCO SOF Mobility pack usually stays in my truck, accompanied by a "regular" vehicular kit. Whenever out and about with weird camouflaged uniforms and such I also carry around one or two israeli bandages in my left shoulder pocket, and a CAT in my right. Gentner91
Got this about two weeks ago from the folks at London Bridge Trading; took them three months to make it, but the time was well worth the wait. Intended purpose for the bag is to be used as my jump bag for work; Im an Emergency Medical Technician with a rural fire department in Michigan and this allows me to carry more of the basics then I was able to with my TSSI M4 Medical Bag. Its still a work in progress and Im missing a fair share of items that Id like to put into it, but I think its a *decent* start so far. Also, please forgive my lame photography skills, I was trying to be creative and they didnt turn out as nice as I would have liked. DKruse
Any questions, criticism and advice is greatly welcomed. Thanks for looking. I think your artsy fartsy came out nice. That's also a very nice bag. I debated buying a STOMP, but I just might go with that one because of how it looks to be set up. Any negatives you've found on it so far? Gentner91
I think your artsy fartsy came out nice. That's also a very nice bag. I debated buying a STOMP, but I just might go with that one because of how it looks to be set up. Any negatives you've found on it so far? Only "negatives" I have found with the bag is that it is a wee bit smaller than my sisters Blackhawks version and the shoulder straps are made of a very light, non danier nylon fabric. Despite the fabric not being 1000D Nylon like the rest of the bag, its a hell of a lot nicer than the Blackhawk by FAR. My brother in law went through two Blackhawk STOMP II's while he was in Mosul in 06-07 and my sisters bag (Which is a STOMP II and has seen very, very light use) is starting to show wear in the stitching between the bag and the shoulder straps. I dont mean to degrade Blackhawk by any means, but the quality you get from London Bridge Trading cant be beat IMHO, especially with the lifetime warrenty. If you have any more questions about it fire away, sorry about the delayed response, work has kept me pretty busy as of late. Do you plan to use it for Fire/EMS or Military use? I'm a first responder right now, working on getting into the army to be a 68W, then hopefully going back into EMS and law enforcement (and hopefully I can get a job at the PD I've been interning at because they want to include Tactical Medics with their SWAT team which would obviously be a big win-win for me). I just use a tactical bag that I had around and converted it to my personal BLS kit, but it doesn't allow for much organization or ease of use. I think everything you've said is more than enough info I needed, thank you very much, stay safe.
Mr. Jon
pretty anti-tactical, but I only carry things I'm 100% confident in using. Pretty much just dressings and bandages to be honest.
08kecarv
What pouch is that Mr. Jon? And thank you for being honest and only using things you're comfortable with using. Too many guys think they can play medic with their fully decked out IFAKs. The gear/supplies don't make a medic.
Mr. Jon
Warrior Assault Systems Rip-off Medic Pouch. I've found it to be about the right size, not so small I'm trying to force things in, but not so big it gets in the way. Possibly not the most practical pouch to get across the pond unless you're picking a few things up from uktactical though. I agree entirely, even though I've had various first aid training over the years (not to mention learning through observation when real medics have been patching me up after my foolish antics) but Its also my hiking kit so anything that isn't likely to be useful is just weight I don't need to be carrying
Gentner91
Update: Overview of my London Bridge Trading 1562B; this is my jump bag that I use for work.
