Murdoc

Recommended Posts

I saw this photo, and I had an idea to make my CYMA SOCOM useful in Nam airsoft...

Progress about "home M14 wood stock making" will be may useful... for full wood-metall M1 garand, and M14 home-builders

So there are the pictures:

The plans transfered to beech wood(I wanted walnut, but I just found unplaned ones... Staining may help  ) The stock was made from two halfs

Wood milling ready(as I thought that time... so naiv), and some help-holes bored.

Cut out...

Some fine work done...

Guled together...

Wanted stuck metall parts inside... Damm!!! Didn't fit...

After some days sanding, and milling... fit.

Now it looks so...

Outside the wood work, I'll make/change metall parts similar to the photo...

dude.

Win.

what did you use to mill the wood out, and what are you using to shape it? How thick is one of those boards?

"wood milling mashine" ... I don't know the exact english name...

Don't stick to BOSCH I have cheap china made...

You need only one strait, long one...

The right wall(the straitest, and right from above) is about 2-3 mm(on one small part only 1 mm), the left is about 7mm(much thicker than ABS, but my wood-stock is symmetrical; ABS is unsymetrical)...

It's like nightmare...

Thickness can be tested by a small car lamp, in the dark, if you tuck into...

Shaping, is made by rasps, sanding papers, and sanding mashines...

I don't advise to make it(but I did't take any advise too :P ).

Good work murdoc, very nice.

So the australians used this in nam? Any more pictures?

If I'm right once I saw the other part of this photo(it contains the "other parts" of the M-series)... But I didn't save the other part. <_<

I don't know exactly; reentractors say this on vietnamairsoft.com

I read about the S.A.S.: the short weapons without flash hinder and the FAL grips were reality.

and why people use imageshack i have no idea, surely i'm not the only person who doesnt like unnecessary links and ads.

Use the "direct link to image" option and you won't ever have to deal with ANY of that...

Though I understand where you're coming from... The people who haven't realized this makes me want to dropkick babies :)
