Force Recon thread went a few days without posts or pics so here's a pic from of my old stuff.

MSA High-noise headset

Benchmade D.E.T Multi-Tool

Nemesis Glasses

ESS Glasses

Assorted Oakley M-Frames (the originals are my pride)

The poncho-liner I used for the backing is the new (I guess) style with the digital woodland marpat on one side and coyote brown on the reverse side. The pistol is there for decoration.

Awesome stuff Shadownova. You've practically showed all the stuff I was interested in getting!

What type of MSA Sordins are those? I got a set of type 75310 which are the Mich Ranger Communication Set, but I'm pretty sure it's not what you guys are issued. Could you check on the cable that goes from your headset into your PTT, what the label says? Or what the label on the side of the earcups says?

Thanks in advance!

Oh and which type of M-frames are those?

The label on the earcup says 75321 and I don't have the PTT cable. The headset is the only thing that I have still.

For the Oakley's, the one on the right is the Oakley M-Frame with black Strike Lenses

the ones on the left and in the middle are Oakley M-Frame 2.0 Strike

Thanks for all the info shadownova, I think I'll be getting a pair of M-frames next paycheck! Were you issued the Oakley M-Frame with black Strike Lenses?

And Countfloyd your loadout is so very nice, as is the Ranger on the right. You both look awesome. I guess the guy in the middle gets shot in the nuts a lot, needing protection that low!

I was originally issued the Oakley M-Frames that came with both dark and clear lenses and I believe they are strike lenses. I'm not too sure though.

Then I acquired the newer M-Frames 2.0 and since I still had my "1.0" frames I just use that.

Oakley M-Frames, to me, really only look hot in the military. It's a fashion accessory, because there are a ton of other cheaper more available glasses that do the same job but OOO SPECIAL FORCES OAKLEYS MUST BE SPECIAL FORCES!! A lot of people buy them or steal them to impress the guys with ESS or Wiley X glasses (the more common options). I dunno... that is just my belief. Honestly they're just really durable glasses to me with a big bulky case. Now everyone has Oakley (the newer 2.0s) but I continued to wear my original M-Frames. But honestly I think M-Frames should be kept to sports or military environments. They look kinda strange in civilian attire.

I'm actually surprised there isn't more discussion on Oakley's in this thread, seeing as how it is an essential part of recreating the look.

For those curious about the evolution of Oakleys in Force Recon, to the best of my knowledge and experience, this is how it went.

Oakley M-Frames (very original with multiple lenses of different tints, no nose clip) 2003-2005?

Oakley M-Frames (now with just dark and clear lenses, nose clip) 2007?-2008

Oakley M-Frames 2.0 (dark and clear lenses, nose clip) 2008-present

I'm very not sure about those dates, those are just around the times I started noticing oakley changing their stuff. Maybe some of the other Marines can help fill in the gaps.

I use them for cycling aswell yeah, and sometimes when i go driving. I've went with oakley because i love the look, love the feel and the way they fit. i prefer them way above ESS or Wiley-x, and depending on the circumstance even above my fricking expensive ray-ban (and that thing is awesome!). I've got the one with the clip on it. I do want to get my hands on either a half jacket or a framed wire. like those aswell :o

I do really see a lot of oakleys in summer here, you'd be suprised!
