SantaSCSI
Good luck getting 1-3W PMR's through customs Fact, they'll have a field day with this prr . I still silently hope there is going to be a way without playing Russian roulette (which is most often won by customs). I can only hope this is going to be a catalyst for others to produce a legal one. Also, awaiting reviews .
bbstriker
Fact, they'll have a field day with this prr . I still silently hope there is going to be a way without playing Russian roulette (which is most often won by customs). I can only hope this is going to be a catalyst for others to produce a legal one. Also, awaiting reviews . Belgium customs are not interested in radios- only the value. They do not flip through manuals looking at specs nor do they put the radio on a test rig to measure power output. A key reason why is because it is not illegal to own radios with power exceeding 500mw If you check Begium custom regulations, you see that Radios are not an item of interest other than the import value. Where is this paranoia coming from? Check Belgium customs online information.

Noveske
Remark: Couldn't do a performance test, a jolly fellow forgot to buy the batteries for me. My fault anyway, that's what you get when you rely on others. Retailers in HK seem to gradually stock in this radio. Shops that have them or will have at the moment are: Global Airsoft (Online Shop), PX-Airsoft (not yet) and AMD (Walk-in shop, on display and available) More pics and details: Photo 1/2: This thing is very close to real specs. The single PTT looks and feels like the real one and it's only millimeters that prevented my real PTT from successfully docking onto the radio's main body. The com socket is the same 5-pin design as found on the real deal. Photo 2/2: According to the manual output power is 1W/3W, has a built-in scrambler and what is CTCSS/DCS? Which shop is AMD? and how much are they selling it for there?

n1ch0
I'm pretty sure no one have asked this yet. Will this radio "worked" with Moto Talkabouts? Thanks, Nicholas
Noveske
I'm pretty sure no one have asked this yet. Will this radio "worked" with Moto Talkabouts? Thanks, Nicholas From what I know. No. Not without reprogramming. ONLY if your Talkabout runs the 440 mhz band. I am unsure about other countries but for HK, the Talk abouts run 409.XXXX Frequencies and as for the North American Moto Talkabouts, they run 462.XXXX & 467.XXXX. Here are the Frequencies for the Moto Talkabouts: HK Spec Channel Frequency 1 409.7500 2 409.7625 3 409.7750 4 409.7875 5 409.8000 6 409.8125 7 409.8250 8 409.8375 9 409.8500 10 409.8625 11 409.8750 12 409.8875 13 409.9000 14 409.9125 15 409.9250 16 409.9375 17 409.9500 18 409.9625 19 409.9750 20 409.9875 North American Spec Channel Frequency 1 462.5625 2 462.5875 3 462.6125 4 462.6375 5 462.6625 6 462.6875 7 462.7125 8 467.5625 9 467.5875 10 467.6125 11 467.6375 12 467.6625 13 467.6875 14 467.7125 15 462.5500 16 462.5750 17 462.6000 18 462.6250 19 462.6500 20 462.6750 21 462.7000 22 462.7250 CTCSS Code MicroFreq 1 67.0 2 71.9 3 74.4 4 77.0 5 79.7 6 82.5 7 85.4 8 88.5 9 91.5 10 94.8 11 97.4 12 100.0 13 103.5 14 107.2 15 110.9 16 114.8 17 118.8 18 123.0 19 127.3 20 131.8 21 136.5 22 141.3 23 146.2 24 151.4 25 156.7 26 162.2 27 167.9 28 173.8 29 179.9 30 186.2 31 192.8 32 203.5 33 210.7 34 218.1 35 225.7 36 233.6 37 241.8 38 250.3 0 OFF What's strange is that for this particular "Marconi" unit, channels 1-10 are coded with a weird CTCSS which doesn't seem to be in the standard range I have listed above. This means if the coded setting is turned on, then only channels 11-16 can be used with the standard 400-470 mhz UHF walkies (I tested it with a Quansheng). But if anyone figures it out, let me know! -=OGGY=-
Ok, I am not a radio person at all, but I am interested in getting one of these. Some Q's: -Could I hook up a real/replica Comtac or Sordin headset? -Who could I talk too? People with the same radio? -If I had it reprogrammed, could it work with regular store bought radios? (no one I play with likes to shell out for this kind of stuff besides me) Thanks

the_only_of_me
OGGY: The Swedish Armed Forces has ordered a bunch of Comtac XS with bone conducting mic and correct wiring for use with the RS PRR. It's available through various Peltor dealers. Product number is MT17H682FB-69 and MSRP is about £600 if I'm not misstaken.
