Magpul PTS Folding Pistol Gun (FPG)

How many baseplates were you expecting them to supply you with? . I mean, yeah it's far from ideal that you have to use a special baseplate, but as you can see for yourself, there's very limited space inside the gun when folded and to not compromise on accuracy, that was pretty much the only way to do it. Supplying the gun with one Magpul FPG baseplate guarantees that you'll be able to use the replica. What they should have done was ensure that additional baseplates were available at the time of the kit's release. That way people like you and me can have complete setups. I don't see it as an attempt to trick buyers into buying something other than what was advertised. However, I do see it as not anticipating the consumers' need for additional baseplates as many will use this as a skirmishable gun and not just a collector's piece.

I always use airsoft guns that I buy.;)

Not really sure if they stressed the fact that you wil be needing a different baseplate.

Well, it's not the end of the world.

But indeed, they should have been made available at the same time.

Then again, they did go as far out as to deliver the next best thing next to RS.

and yes CKinnerley; the fill valve is left exposed that way.

Couldn't you just modify the KSC/KWA base plates to fit? It's just higher from what I read so nothing a file or sanding block wont fix.

The reason being that Japan has had a surprisingly high saturation in ACM Magpul products recently, and in hopes to curb this, they've sent most of the units there.

LOL! Like selling two-for-one deals on syringes to heroin junkies. I doubt the FPGs were sent to curb anything but their pockets seeing as how a lot of Japanese airsofters are willing to buy premium products for nearly double the price. For example, an EOTech that normally sells $500 anywhere else goes for almost $1000 in Japan.

Probably.

The first batch would have sold out immediately no matter where it was sent. And don't forget, PTS charges the same wholesale price to their dealers no matter where in the world the dealer is located. So the fact that their products are so far above MSRP in Japan is because of the Japanese dealers, not PTS. I asked about this a while ago, and was told that Japanese retailers charge as much as they do because the Japanese Consumer by and large is willing to pay the high prices regardless of what PTS states the MSRP is. If anything, it's less hassle for PTS to distribute the products locally in HK.

Time for some first mod FPG and that would be a custom 6.03mm extended barrel :)

If some of you are asking, why i did not get the Prime slide with extended outer barrel as well. Well i did but my side was not made well and it did not fit perfectly. Anyhow since i have 2 Glocks 18c (one plastic side and one stock metal slide) i just went this route (using the the stock metal slide first).

Im thinking of maybe milling a front comp or something to stabilize the barrel to the body, maybe.... Although the initial first test shots were very good.

Now i just have to chrono. :P

Dude ... that is epic! Is it an extension off the threaded barrel, or is it an entirely custom barrel!?!!! We need info! Wait a sec ... is that just the inner barrel extended out?

Right, got this little bugger all assembled yesterday, man is that selector a fiddly bugger to put in or what? I lost the little ball bearing twice even though I had the box lid from the G18 to work over. Lucky I had a tiny bag of 3-4mm ball bearing spares for 40mms lying around, or I'd have been stuck in semi-auto for ever, heh. By some miracle it does seem to all actually work and dry fire, whether it fires bbs I shall find out as I'm skirmishing it all day today; my recommendation for a pouch to carry this in:

http://www.tacticaltailor.com/largeutilitypouch.aspx

Now bear in mind I looked allllll over at pretty much every GP pouch there is on the market, and the length of the FPG when folded (~10") is a *bramston pickle* to find a pouch for, I even looked at some side armour plate pouches and they were too small. That TT option however is absolutely ideal because once you tighten down the pointy half of the fastener it fits the FPG almost perfectly, absolutely no empty space that would need padding to stop it bouncing around inside on your leg/rig as you run. Skirmish report later tonight/tomorrow.

I know some people were waiting to hear this:

Magpul PTS is very excited to announce a joint venture with KWA to manufacture a COMPLETE VERSION of the Magpul PTS Folding Pistol Gun (FPG).

KWA is a respected leader in Airsoft manufacturing which specializes in GBB technology. With innovative designs like the MP7A1 and soon to be released KMP9 (a modern rendition of the TMP), KWA is known for reliability and performance.

The Magpul PTS FPG kit recently made available on the market was developed as a licensed replica of the Magpul Industries FPG and was designed around the KWA/KSC Gas Blowback system. The original intent was to manufacture a conversion kit for the many KWA M series and KSC G series guns that the FPG was developed around and which many consumers’ had in hand already. It quickly became obvious that the public interest for the FPG was greater than initially expected, and there was high demand for a completed version of the Magpul PTS FPG. A joint venture between Magpul PTS and KWA was an obvious choice, and that is now a reality.

KWA will be producing the necessary internals of the GBB system, nearly identical to the previous GBB design but with a few modifications and performance upgrades per Magpul PTS' request.

Magpul PTS is confident that the products resulting from this joint venture will be of the highest quality and the collaboration will pave the way for future projects. The projected MSRP and release dates will be announced soon. The completed gun will ship with a high capacity magazine.

I apologise if it has already been answered, but does/would the latest Glock 18C from Tokyo Marui fit this FPG?

logic would say yes, since both are replicas of the same glock pistol...but I would like to hear if from the specialists on this board :)

It's because the entire lower frame is replaced by the FPG. KSC and TM designed their own replica versions of the Glock. Think of it this way: you can't use the lower frame from a KSC Glock on a TM Glock and vice versa. The same applies here. This is typical in airsoft.

hmmm, I just got reply from ehobbyshop asia, in the mail they said the tm would fit the fpg......

Ehobbyshop is on this board right? maybe they can clearify this? Cause they do not have the fpg in stock I see and yet they can conform the TM glock would fit in the fpg.
