BAR pouches as riggers pouch

Recommended Posts

So I bought 3 cutdown BAR pouches to be used as rigger pouches off ebay. Im not sure if they actually did this in WW2 or not but they look cool and hold alot and were also cheaper than actual rigger pouches lol.

They are from a kahki BAR belt so they will fit in with the rest of my equiptment. Im just curious if anybody has seen it done before?

I honestly don't see it not being done, very rare I would guess as I think paratroopers jumping with BARs was rare on D-Day

I'm quite sure they weren't issued with them until they got supplied from the advancing line infantry on the ground, as they were far too big and heavy to jump with anyway!

The BAR belt has lots of loops down the back for retaining the actual belt part of the rig, so theres nothing to say it couldnt have been cut up and looped onto a belt.
