On our real steel HK's we put the light/laser under the barrel whenever possible. There are many practical and tactical reasons for doing this. However, on my current real G36 clone (see photo) the light is on the side with the TD pad on the other.

From a tactical standpoint, you want your light / laser forward on the gun if you can. You lose a degree of illumination when the white light is back on a gun due to occlusion, plus you light up your gun making you more visible from the side.

Finally my G36C is more or less complete... well at least externally ;)

Now finally with flip-up BUIS. Not the real MP7 style ones, but they will be replaced by real ones as soon as they or a well made replica (Marui/Maruzen?) becomes available.

BUIS deployed. Yes it's a co-witness setup :)

Top View. It's a really streamlined weapon, nothing pokes out more than 15mm (except the flashlight of course).

Does anyone know where to find a carry handle like that? I've been looking all over, to no avail, and it appears that this member's been banned.

mmm, the STAR carry handle is more of the G36C style, just with full RIS in place of the iron sights. It's alright though, I think I've found what I was looking for:

His listed address is just down the road from me in my hometown, convenient. Unfortunately, he may or may not still be in business, from other links I've read.

Eltee, I totally agree your point.

the reason why i put the PEQ6 next to the carrying handle is after i have seen the below pics.

I added a magpul M93 stock (genuine)

Had to dremel a lot because the hybrid buttstock didn't fit the magpul stock.

Why you would ask? sometimes the stock was to large, sometimes to short, depending on the situation. it's important when you have to conserve your ammo.
