dark2023
I have noticed that there are not enough airsoft guns that resemble "normal" guns. So I decided that I am going to make an airsoft version of the Ruger 10/22 (bicentennial) rifle. Here are some pics of the real steel (er...well, wood) I'm just wondering what base gun I should (buy) use for this build. the weapon is semi auto so I'll need my base gun to be either gas, or and AEG, I'm a big fan of blow back so if there is a GBB that you think might work PLEASE tell me about it. Gooberz
There aren't more airsoft guns like this because it's a boring look, precisely because they are "Normal". At any rate, an M14 would probably serve you well, you'd have to change the rear sights and bolt assembly, probably the barrel too.
BigAl
An M14 is way to big. IIRC Tanaka or MGC used to do a 10/22, don't see the point of an Airsoft one myself. Still each to there own.
Username_Here
Maruzen Vz.61 internals would be an absolute perfect fit. The mag is also close enough in similarities.
hhsohn
Tanio Koba used to make a GBB version 10/22 that was said to be a mid-range tack driver. But I really haven't seen one for sale in about 7+ years in the US. MGC made an NBB version even longer ago, and someone in classicairsoft.net might have one for sale. renegadecow
Tanio Koba 10/22 http://www.scaar.at/airsoft/ruger.htm Real slick, but costs $800. You might be better off doing a Ruger PC9 (or 45) by installing the guts of a GBB handgun on a rifle stock.
wildething
might want to ask these guys if they can get you one http://www.collectorairsoft.com/long_arms.html
maverick343432
http://www.modelguncollector.co.uk/index_air.html I brought one from this site 7ish years ago. Doesn't look like they have any stock available. Unfortunately the MGC version were not very good and required a lot of upgrading to get them on par with say a VSR. Mine shot around 400fps but accuracy was pants due to the lack of hop up.
X Lupin
I have a real 10/22. It's very tiny. Have you ever handled one? The maruzen system, as others stated, would be a very good fit.
dark2023
I may well use the maruzen it does seem a nice option, though I still wonder if it is small enough, I thoughts skorpians were about as large as a mac10. And yes, I have handled a real one, the first 2 pictures are taken by me of my actual real steel ruger that I'm attempting to recreate in Airsoft version. Partially as an homage, partially because I like the ruger and would like to have a replica one that wont kill people if I shoot them, and partially because I want to impress the people at my local airsoft field with my custom built weapon. shmook
no idea on size comparison, but in keeping with a gbb, could you not try an M1 carbine with a good dose of modding? as said, ive no idea if its feasible, cos i have no idea of the size of either, but its a gbb base i believe
Donut
You should be able to fit scorpian internals into a 10/22 sized stock. The hard part will be finding a skorpian and not feeling bad gutting it :/
dark2023
I may just remove the grip and stock and put the skorpian in the stock as is...except some work on the barrel, but I'll probably not do anything irreversible so that later it can be undone and made back into a skorpian.
