Wild_XIII
I've just emailed Ares asking about whether they will sell to me directly. I noticed they also did a pack of 5 of their SL8 mags so I inquired about those as well. Would it be wrong for me to put an AG36 and a Cmag on my SL8?
ollie_ty
They will sell you those parts directly, I bought A few things directly from them a while back. It wouldnt be wrong, but seriously, try borrowing an Ag36 to see how you like the weight. They're *fruitcage* heavy.
Wild_XIII
Balls, Ares don't have the sight rail in stock! The more expensive option would be to buy a JG SL8 which I can nab the rail off and make the rest of the gun into some sort of project. I have handled an AG36 before, it wasn't too bad. However, a 450 FPS semi locked DMR fitted with a grenade launcher and a drum mag would probably not be allowed on most sites.
Pkekyo-Nor
Well, that... and I would kick you in the shins if I saw you.
Wild_XIII
Remind me to wear shins pads if I ever go to an airsoft game in Norway.
Probotector
Very smexy, how is the weight of the Aluminium handguard? Not too front heavy I assume?
Kratisto
And while we're at it, here's my G36 in its final (Woodland/Outdoors skirmish) form: Nice! It's nice to see a realistic looking G36 instead of some plastic parts just put together If you want to make it an almost perfect G36A2, change the KAC style vertical grip for the H&K type made by VFC. If you find the stock too long, you can change it for the shorter one of a G36C, as many german soldiers do. If you want to camo it, but don't want to use paint over the nice polymer body, you can use green tape like this:
ollie_ty
I did get offered a real HK vertical grip, but I realised that its so similar to a KAC one it became a non issue for me. The stock is fine, I much prefer to shoulder the full length stock than my C length stock. and as for camo? BLLLEEEEUUGGGHHH no thanks!EDIT: The Aluminium handguard is great, not weighty at all. Skarclaw
This isn't worth its own thread and tbh I think I'm more likely to get help here... does anybody know how the length compares between the CA G36K outer barrel and the barrel that comes with the CA KAC-style RAS? thanks
Seraphim989
Which RAS? If it's the K length one, it should just be the same barrel
Dj_komodo
Umarex H&K G36CV (S&T)
Skarclaw
Which RAS? If it's the K length one, it should just be the same barrel K ; the barrels are different lengths though - the one that comes with the RAS is longer by about 2cm I think. I should of really measured when I had the chance but whatyagonnado. thanks anyway
Seraphim989
Many G36s are just C length barrels with extensions screwed on. I have seen at least one K length RAS that had a dedicated single piece K barrel with it. Strange that CA would make different length barrels for the same gun

Strange that CA would make different length barrels for the same gun yeah this was a fairly early run - within a year of release atleast - as you say its a c but with a barrel extension. as you can see from here it replaces the whole front end. dw bout it though
Colin_The+Ferret
I got the VFC "K" barrel extension for my C and had to cut it down to get it RS length. It was a perfect fit for an M4 inner barrel though.

Eizen
Can you guys point me where to get the top rail without sights? One that fits CA's G36KSuch as Showen has two couple posts above me: http://www.victorymarket.net/forum/data/attachment/album/201405/12/234300kyc12x3yk52fx1k1.jpgHK/EU shops are good to go, can't be bothered with US.Thanks! Bando
who makes the best dual optic carry handle ...except HK
Kratisto
Nobody, even the real dual optic is crappy for a real steel sight. Also very expensive for it's low quality. Unless you want it for the looks of a classic 90's G36, it's better to buy the KSK rail or the A2 style 3.5x carry handle with top rail.
Skarclaw
Ollie_TY says that the ACM optic is better then the h&k. Here is a pic of my g36 as posted in the h&k thread, just cause. http://i.imgur.com/sczsIa5.jpg edit: I too would be inclined to get one with a rail - I think you can get a railed RDS which looks very similar to the one on the dual optic set up Edited June 19, 2014 by Skarclaw
