Missing postcount

Hi guys,

 

I've been away from the forum for ages, but have posted before (a grand total of about 4 times I think). When I logged in earlier it said my postcount was 0.

 

Does the postcount reset when threads/topics are archived?

Just seen the thread about posting in off-topic etc, and I'm fairly certain that I've posted in other forums (the gear forum specifically) which would count.

The gear & picture forums don't count towards your post count.

To stop people "Thats cool" and "Yeah, I Agree" posting in the picture threads to 100, and getting sales access.

If it's possible I personally think a better solution is to have a minimum membership time, say 6 months, for people like me who lurk more than post. Maybe combine it so either 100 posts or 6 months if you have less than that.

Not a bad idea Buffz, perhaps a probationary period like you mentioned would be more ideal than a minimum post count

IIRC, from the conversations we had about this, it is a bit harder to set something like that up compared to the post count.

It also means little, as it's quite easy to set up multiple accounts and wait.

 

If you wish to use the sales section, you simply have to become productively involved in the community here. There's plenty of alternative forums out there for people who merely want to sell kit.
