FooBear
It is cool :-) But you're right, Gas Blowback blows for most of the year. It helps if you use CO2 instead of Green Gas. CO2 is useful to a far lower temperature.
Captain Leisure
Yeah I think I'll stay clear of it.

Probotector
It has been reported that the GBB kit isn't really great performance-wise, even for a GBB. The WE MSK is probably the better choice. No trades but it seems to be decent.
Captain Leisure
Yeah doesn't seem that great. But it is cool..........

steelfallenangel
I've read from multiple sources that the GBB kit just rips itself apart pretty quickly. And in ways that there are not replacment original or upgrade parts for unless you have access to your own machine shop. Damn I gotta hurry myself, I still have to pick up a 18'' barrel, PRS II stock, and a long handguard.
Captain Leisure
Well I've just picked up a Masada DMR from classifieds so I'll be able to answer my own questions. It's got the 18" barrel, PRS II stock, long handguard, upgraded cylinder/piston, M150 spring, Scope plus all the original bits inc CQB barrel. Shoots 440fps with .25s. Arrives soon.....................
mimesis
I built out the DMR with the separate parts. When I went to install the new barrel, the gun wouldn't feed at all. On inspection, I found this: Original left, new right. Amazing that perhaps 0.5mm of difference in where the bucking landed caused the problem. Notice also the reduced chamfering on the "hip". Swopping over some parts from the original barrel to the 18" solved the problem. Resulting in this.
Captain Leisure
Nice...... I'm intending to swap back to the CQB Barrel for different games. Looks like I'd better be careful with the bucking etc. Is it the case that you also need to turn the hop-up fully off before switching barrels?
mimesis
Is it the case that you also need to turn the hop-up fully off before switching barrels? Yes, absolutely. Hop needs to be back to zero to avoid messing up bucking, nub, etc. etc.
Captain Leisure
Yes, absolutely. Hop needs to be back to zero to avoid messing up bucking, nub, etc. etc. Thanks - that's what I thought. Here's a pic of mine - although I don't have it yet.

Fly'n Brian
For those running the Masada AKM. Other then HSGI TACOs, are there any other open top single or duel mag panels that will fit the AKM mags? Specificly looking at a TT fight light 5.56 dual mag panel. sacairsoftsn00py
Look into pouches/rigs made by headontactical.com his chest rigs/single mag pouches work beautifully. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2 FYI, those tactical tailor fight light pouches, while lighter, are on the flimsy side. Reinserting mags for when/if you top off becomes more challenging with them. Edited January 13, 2014 by sacairsoftsn00py

So other then the TT pouches having an issue inserting mags quickly, the AKM mags will fit in them?
sacairsoftsn00py
Quite honestly, I think those are more tailored for the m4 mag which means there won't be much of a slop. They have them at the local air soft extreme shop but quite honestly, I prefer headontactical's pouches. I can ask about whether or not the aim mags fit in them tomorrow morning for you. Fly'n Brian
Thanks for checking those out for me. Looks like my search will continue. Just trying to find something a little more readily available then like the customs ones from headontactical.com you linked.
