HAHAHA, I forgot I posted those on SNAFU huh? Well glad to see they were of use..The Gripod is nice on the SAW, I have seen a few USMC SAWS with the bipod removed and the GRIPOD Added, or the BIPOD still on and a Grip added. Usually PARA length barrels..honestly I don't think I have seen one full barrel with this crew..a few full stocks, mostly either PARA or the LE style. Lots of Nutsacks. Only seen one hard box mag.

The LE stocks are common and bad *albatross*....but I don't know who makes them and so far neither do the gunnners I have asked. It was apparently something new they added right before coming out here. I have seen a few ARMY 249's and they are set uo the same. I have seen just about every optic imaginable on a SAW from the various force's ACOG's, AIMPOINTS, EOTECH's, ELCAN's, and even a SUSAT ;) guess who had that.

Most of the SAW gunners have either FLC's or have put pouches right onto the IBA. I have even seen BLACKHAWK Tacvest style MOLLE Vests used.

From what I can recall, the only Marine ICB's that are available to civilians are rejected goods. In some way they don't meet the quality control standards. It's also partly due to the Corps mentality that if you're not a Marine or a FMF Corpsman, you have not earned the right to wear the Marine Corps emblem.

... but for plenty of $$$$ the Corps seems to forget about that 'must be earned' thing.

I also think it's only rejected goods, but eventually my third pair is flawless now, even passed the Goretex waterproof test when we had Typhoon warning last week. :D

Also for something like a SAW gunner if he is hit, all someone has to do is take the FLC off and they can assume the role and get the SAW up again to maintain the volume of fire. That is why I have my ammo and the what's nots on an FLC right now, my unit has temporarily switched to IBA's because our armor is too big and combursome for GCE work. So I got myhands on an FLC to rig all my AW gear on...also makes multi-roleing easier.

... especially with Side SAPIS attached to it.

For Airsoft though the IBA seems to be the most accurate outfit since the MTV is not available and the TAG Spartans are quite different to the MTV.

I have ben starting to see SPARTANS here and there in country. Mainly on Officers though. Also I have seen some MK2 M249's with the fixed carry handles. There seems to be a wide range of SAW's in country. Some units have VERY OLD SAWS, and others have the newest tricked out SAW's. I am still trying to find that new LE style stock for the SAW, I want one for my AIRSOFT SAW..lol.

I own a TAG Spartan 2 it is almost identical to the MTV. TAG is the designer of the MTV. The MTV was adapted for the USMC with minor modifications. TAG S2 vs MTV :

- no quick release system

- no collar / yoke / groin / throat (you can use the ones from OTV though because fabric is adapted for the collar and groin attachment)

- no high density molle on chest

- slightly different side SAPI pockets (yes, they are given with the spartan 2)

- kevlar inserts shall be the OTV's (but for airsofters it's alright as most of us use foam)

My experience is that all armor holds in ALOT of heat..LOL. Sgt. Mckenzie that is a DAMN fine USMC loadout you have there. Looks very spot on, like mentioned the bayonet seems like it might dig into you, also I honestly don't see alot of guys with bayonets here. I think it fals into an issue of thm looseing them though..lol. Where did you get your Assault pack? Did you get the entire system of just the pack? Again man nice loadout...Bravo Zulu.

Thanks for the comments.

Maybe the bayonet is a little too much on the front and could dig in my leg. The scarboard is hard as hell though. I used to attach it on the right side of the FLC but the Spartan II doesn't offer as much MOLLE possibilities. Maybe it's the photo. I'll have a look tonite. The spartan II still has to be tested in the field. Pouches and things will move for sure. Anyway, I prefer to dig it in my leg than in my chin. I see lots of OKC3S used in the sand box all the time. From Officers to NCOs, from Corporal to Privates.

The spartan II cover is heavier than the OTV cover. But it is confortable because the weight is shared between shoulders and hips. I have a sh*tload of things on it and it's heavier than the IBA. In addition, I made fake SAPI with press magazines and cardboard, and it's heavy as hell. I use fake kevlar inserts, hopefully. The Marines are really tough guys to carry all that weight. Hands down.

ILBE assault pack comes from ebay. Type "ILBE" in ebay you'll see plenty of them. I have the main pack too, ebay... Both in generation 2 (with coyote brown accessories). I miss the ILBE hydration pouch from SOURCE though.

Ebay : you don't have the choice because you can't buy them from propper/arcterys.

That's quite a lot for just "minor" differences. :)

The colour seems to be rather coyote tan and not usmc coyote brown.

Anyway, nice DIY job on the Side SAPI carriers, although I they look more like for the IBA. The MTV's Side SAPIS are small and rectangular and are mounted between vest and cummberbund:

IMO, your Bayonet is mounted correctly. This way it leaves your shoulders free for the rifle butt and grip down allows for unobstructed and quick operation, although I would have it on the left side as a right hand guy.
