Ivan le Fou
Nice MRF and I like the shades of the anodization. Here are some I have made today, nothing new. I was just trying my new lenses:
MRF
Nice... lenses Ivan - well, not only lenses . As usual, I like your black-only builds.
NeoVeNoM
Something a bit different. You need to turn up the heat to get the original tube off. Used a G&P based GBBR stock tube. I will install another stock. My FG ACS does not fit the tube. So a MOE for the time being.
Ivan le Fou
Now this is a nice mod. Was it hard to make?
fiddlesticks4220
Looks pretty slick, first LMG in this thread
aznriptide859
If I ever get a KAC LMG I'm gonna bastardize it like you have lol.
NeoVeNoM
Now this is a nice mod. Was it hard to make? Only in effort. Removing the stock tube is not an easy task. I had someone help me heaten the front end of the stock, so it would expand a little. Trying to screw it off like a normal stock tube didn't do the trick. And we used two wrenches at the same time. MRF
I see anodizing is not THAT great for the money . Nice sister - lowers though .
Noveske
I see anodizing is not THAT great for the money . Nice sister - lowers though . Well it's not that bad. But it's interesting that the annodizing is different on both receivers that I have. Edited February 27, 2012 by Noveske
MRF
Please don't take it personally or wrong in general - those looks quite well, specially when compered to what I got on my AEG PTS receiver . Unfortunately anodizing it's a damn tricky process. Still it's quite interesting - AS manufacturers can produce nicely anodized CNC RIS forends, and at the same time making descently anodized CNC receiver is claimed to be difficult and expensive. Looking at both, RIS and receiver shape complexity, it's a bit misterious to me... Edited February 27, 2012 by MRF
RacingManiac
Anodizing is tricky business for anything....you use the same chemical and doing it on the same part and they can come out differently between batches. Slight machining variance or finish can affect how it looks also. You are rarely going to be able to match anodize finish between different parts. We used to have suspension bits for the race car we worked on, 4 parts supposed to all be in some kind of blue, all 4 ends up being slightly different shade.... MRF
Welcome to tricky world of metal alloys - so to speak . Alloys - it's all about them here.
Noveske
Reverted back to the dual-tone MIAD and added a B&T ROTEX III (by Avalon). I'm loving the look and length of the ROTEX III. It's like it was meant to be.

Chevieblazer
The Masada is cool (and not totally unlike mine) but what do you need two lights for? So you can shine a light while you shine a light? Shepard FTW, btw
EngageNZL
Back up. In case one fails.
ODST_NE0
Yep "Two is one, and One is none" Additionally the PEQ has a low power light, that is useful when you just want to lightly illuminate something without turning night into day.
Kalmar
Yep "Two is one, and One is none" I thought that fad had died out by now...
ODST_NE0
I thought that fad had died out by now... I personally do it for two reason: one I like redundancy (comes from my professional field) where I can get it. Second b/c it is just plainly ridiculous to have two lights. If you want a more practical/BS answer, the redundancy is important in a CQB as the torch will be frequently used and relied upon and backup is ideal in case of a malfunction/failure of one. Also there is one mount on each side, so shooting out of left side or right, the torch is will not be obstructed by cover. Keep both of them on all the time (CQB/Field) as not to change the balance/feel of the gun. Again, I mainly do it for the ridiculous factor.
