Triggerhappychappy
'Tis awesome- accuracy is amazing, think the paint job will benefit from something to make it a bit shinier & worn looking and then it will be *perfect*.
Schultz98
round off the pistol grip, the real one showed it had a rounded grip isntead of the squared one on yours
renegadecow
There are two types of stocks for the VSS. The one I'm making and the real one pictured above are the two types. Basically the other type has an enlarged palm swell, right handed thumb rest and adjustable cheek rest.
counterassasin
Absolutely awesome work Renegadecow Completely assembled and painted it looks astonishingly good! Schultz: The majority of VSS photos I've seen, has had the "flat pistol grip style" just like the style Renegadecow opted for.
ninja master of coffee
Amazing, my favourite project of yours yet.

renegadecow
PSO-1-ish mocked up, not bolted to anything yet. Kinda looks better than I'd imagined actually.
Bane
Just hope the new owner doesent slap it into auto and use a bottle screwed into the side of a highcap! (Sorry, i had to say it ) INCREDIBLE work though, could i pester you for detailed drawings of the bits and peices? Even just sketches with rough sizes. I'd love to try my hand at making a metal one of these
Schultz98
woah didn't realize you were making your own scope for it also
DarkLite
Please, please tell me that PSOP will house an RDS of some description. That would be unstoppable win.
renegadecow
The part in the middle is a rds (Tasco 1x30 clone), or whats left of it http://images1.opticsplanet.com/640-640/opplanet-tasco-1x30-22-reddot.jpg. I originally wanted to just rip one apart and use the inner tube and adjusting knobs. But I couldn't crack it open without having to use a saw, so I just built on top of it. It's tilted to the side so I had to reverse turret controls, rheostat now on the side instead of above, and removed the rail attaching parts which now show as bare aluminum in the photo. Glued on the pvc shroud up front with a sheet metal collar for added durability. The same sheet metal collar will be used for the back end securing the fake eye piece and cushy rubber thing. aznriptide859
Wow, that scope looks brilliant. Are you going to be making more mags for the customer, or just one? Or is the system done by simply swapping the shotgun shell inside?
Murdoc
Fantastic... no words to say, how... But how damage resistant is PVC construction(I mean not against BBs, but knock in)?
tangloppen
That is so amazing. How much does the gun weigh?
renegadecow
Thanks! I'm only making one mag for the customer as he's likely to use the short AK hicaps for convenience. I might suggest to him a 20rd VAL mag which should hold something like 200 or so bb's as I've made something similar in the past. PVC has similar properties to ABS plastic. The kind I'm using is a little more rigid. For its durability, the thinnest parts like the trigger guard (about 2.5mm thick by 12mm wide) can hold the weight of the whole gun which is a little over 2kg minus the battery and optics. I've already started painting the optics, should be done in the morning. I've omitted putting in the mock switch and QD lever since they won't be doing anything anyways. Schultz98
cant wait to see the final result of the optics
renegadecow
And here it is. Took me a while to get that sand blasted look. Holds zero even if you use the scope as a carry handle. But can't say the same when reinstalling the scope on the gun as there's a bit of play vertically.
aznriptide859
I'm in love. Marry me renegadecow.
Kenworth W900
And here it is. Took me a while to get that sand blasted look. How did you get that look - its amazing? I'm guessing trial and error on the shade of silver then a bit of deliberate dappled spraying?
DarkLite
Renegadecow, take me now, right here over the keyboard.
