ollie_ty
Hopefully ASG will get their hands on it and put some lovely B&T trades on that too!
bulmedius
Hmm, This is surprising. I would have figured they always preferred to have outside people do accessories like the Mac11 extensions and Mp7 extensions. Go figure. I wonder if it is KSC re-releasing their version of the Mp9 silencer. I remember seeing RA-tech announce one, not sure what happened to that though
Mace2
The guy implied it would be done with trades by ASG but I stand to be corrected. Do you guys use red dots or just the built in iron sights? Love my big red dot but that would look out of place. Thinking about an Aimpoint T1 clone or a Zeiss clone? What do you think?
ollie_ty
Don't get the Zeiss clone. And what red dot do you have?
Mace2
A Kings Arms M2 - fairly large with angled mount and lens covers. Works really well but I fancied something smaller and more in keeping with the gun but don't really like the reflex style where the light is shone onto a single upright lens at one end. My buddies got an MP5 and has a pretty small red dot on that which seems to work ok despite it's size.
ollie_ty
I'll have you know Aimpoints sit quite nicely on MP9s I prefer a T-1 or a Docter though, if youre getting a T-1, make sure its NOT the red/Green one, try and find the original T-1 clone, 11 levels of red brightness. It's a much better sight.
Mace2
Oops - forgot to ask. Has anyone tried the MP5 magpuls on the bottom of MP9 mags?
Mace2
Yep it does look ok but that massive suppressor balances it out!! Thanks for the tip on the T1.
ollie_ty
It looks good without the supressor too. Im not sure about the MP5 magpuls but I imagine they will tbh. Edited November 4, 2011 by ollie_ty
Mace2
T1 red dot and gun all in post. I actually want it to be Monday!
RSM
The T-1 is a good option, another one you might have wanted to look at is the Element copy of the C-More site which is what I run and sits on the gun quite nicely.
jotohomomoto
wow ollieTY that looks awesome...I would definitely use that as a primary a la CQB!!
ollie_ty
I know, its a shame its not mine! And I use mine in CQB AND outdoors, its got quite an impressive range! EDIT: im going to stop using my phone to post on arnies. MAKEZ ME SOUND STOOPID LIKE. Edited November 4, 2011 by ollie_ty
Mace2
Well I got my new KWA ASG MP9 tonight. Put about 20 rounds in the mag and took it outside into the dark. First impressions - man is it LOUD! Second impressions- man is it REALLY LOUD on full auto. My neighbours horses all bolted even though I wasn't firing anywhere near them. Feels great in the hand - I agree the foregrip is perfect. Then took it inside for a better look over. Nice trades - particularly once I removed the cheap 'built in Taiwan' sticker to reveal the proper branding. Gun feels really solid and is a nice weight when magged up. The sights are very basic and no doubt will work fine but I'll probably use it with a red dot all the time as I'm not that into iron sights anyway (yep I'm lazy and a rubbish shot with them). Took me a few minutes to work out the bolt action and the bolt catch etc but it's actually really straight forward externally even for a gas gun newbie like myself. The bad news? Well I looked inside the gun through the bolt slide(?) and can see that the bolt catch is shiny on the edge. I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be from new so unless it's been prepped already it stands a chance it's rubbing on the bolt as others have; described despite what the shop said. KWA do apparently test fire every gun but as everything else looks matt black in there I reckon it must be rubbing. Looks like I'm going to have to do the famous bolt catch mod as described on the KWA forums to prevent damage whether I like it or not. Bit rubbish really as I'm nervous about taking it apart (or actually getting it back together!). Still I'm looking forward to shooting it again in daylight and getting it chronoed on green and predator ultra (my site's gas of choice). I'll let you know how I get on and post pics in the next few days.
Mace2
Ok ,so I fitted my Aimpoint t1 clone and had a second shoot this evening. Shoots fine on abbey ultra. Had a couple of mag jams - bb's side by side. Probably my rubbish loading technique though. Keep forgetting when to rack the bolt and activating the bolt catch. Gun still worked fine though. Appeared to be shooting straight without hop at cqb ranges but need a bigger area to really put this to the test. In the cool of this evening I was getting about 90 rounds out of one fill so easy two mags probably more on a warmish day. Feels good on the hands and should be ace for cqb. Can't wait for my next game!
DangerWerx
It'll be amazing. The sound of the mp9 usually echo's very well in cqb places. Will really get some attention.
ollie_ty
Id get some 134a just in case mate! I reckon youll be too hot with normal green gas.
Mace2
Going to get chrono'ed on Friday with Green and Abbey Ultra. The leaflet in the box said FPS is 328 and I guess that's meant to be on green so it will be interesting to see what it scores. We are allowed up to 350 single shot for CQB so should be ok. I am going to have to save up for more mags though - it burns through a mag in a blink on auto!!
aznriptide859
Silencer's out. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/pas-qd-silencer-for-tp9-mp9-black.html Expensive though.
DangerWerx
!!!! Yowza! That is a few pretty pennies. I am surprised they didn't chamfer and knurl the release lever like the KSC/B&T one.
Mace2
Don't think that's an official one. Hope not anyway - it's really dull looking. There are so many sexy silencers out there why not at least make it look good. Looks like lazy marketing based on an expressed need for 'anything that fits' from the owners.
ollie_ty
Thats identical to the KSC one :/ Let's hope Avalon ( Who made the cloned Rotex silencers for the M4) will make an MP9 adaptor. Thanks for the headsup Azn.
Mace2
Finding the hop adjustment a little fiddly. The key doesn't seem to fit that solidly in the hop and there are loads of very small definitions. I assume that turning it up increases hop and vice versa? Does each click make a noticeable difference?
ollie_ty
Yeah, if its not clicking right, I found that taking it apart and reseating the hop up helps but that might be too much work. For me, 1 click makes the difference between level hop, and a gentle lift at the end to increase total range (for outdoor sites)
aznriptide859
Quick question - do these run well in freezing temperatures? I recall my KWA MP7 running extremely well in snowy weather, wanted to know if the MP9 is capable of the same.
