Kalmar
The real SCAR can not accept standard AR pistol grips without slight modification to the lower receiver grip tang - TM is just being true to the actual design.
intinerious
Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you have a WE SCAR as well as the TM SCAR recoil shock. Nitro Vo recently released this copy of the TangoDown rail extension (both black and tan): http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32_200&products_id=14591 And I was wondering if it'll fit the WE SCAR. I've asked the shop assistants in Tokyo Model Company today and they said it doesn't fit. I'm wondering whether any of you guys have both guns side by side to check it out to find out whether the issue is a dimensions one or because the placement of the screws to lock in the side rails on the SCAR are different between the TM one and the WE one. Kalmar
I should be able to find out the difference for you, will be posting an in depth photo comparison soon... You could say I'm a bit SCAR obsessed.

I don't think it's a copy of the TD RIS. It doesn't look much like the PWS RIS either. I'd say it's a one off custom design. Real quick question, does the VFC have the same dimensions as the WE? I heard the WE uses the same mold. If so, I'd also really like to know about the fitment of this rail because I can't resist my self some extra RIS. Sorry if this is off topic. Yeah I had a closer inspection of it yesterday browsing pics from several RS blogs and the Nitro Vo. rail and it looks like some of the concept is based off the TD rail but it's not actually made by RS companies... I thought it was a copy because of the slanted front end of the RIS, ah well.
druid799
You could say I'm a bit SCAR obsessed. Obsession's good for you , keeps you warm at night ! "says he who's obsessed with all things TM EBB" !
Kalmar
it looks like some of the concept is based off the TD rail but it's not actually made by RS companies... The Tango Down "Extended Modula Rail System" is actually a replacement for the entire bottom rail. The only points at which it is connected to the reciever are the barrel trunnion and front barrel removal screws. That means it is able to retain the SCAR's quick change capability. The Nitro rail looks to be an extension of the side rails, meaning in order to remove the barrel you would have to take off those as well (not an easy process) - But this is only airsoft so it shouldn't be an issue!
TheFull9
TMC and Airsoft Global have the CQC version in stock now, if anybody was after one.
Kalmar
Having problems installing the Prometheus Type A cylinder, seems about 1mm too long. Any ideas? My first time upgrading an AEG so might be doing something wrong.
stewpidbear
Scar-L CQC..........Possibly the best aeg I have ever bought. All I've done is stick a madbull tightbore in it, and the average through the chrono is 315fps. Going to leave the rest stock and just enjoy playing with it.
Honzo
lucky you! im still deciding between the scar L, CQC, and heavy
stewpidbear
Already had a socom so had the mags ready!
Richard Y
Having problems installing the Prometheus Type A cylinder, seems about 1mm too long. Any ideas? My first time upgrading an AEG so might be doing something wrong. Please see my recent post in the sopmod thread, Companys like posting out the version 7 cylinder which is 1mm too long ie for m14. Youll need to up end the cylinder and sand it on sand paper on a flat surface, one or 2 strokes will do usually. Its a little known fact that the two are different. Honzo
when is the scar H coming out? is there a date yet?
point7
im planning the buy me TM scar-l CQC next month, but i still cant decinde what color i wand, black or the tan one. i dont like there is a color diference between the lower and upper of the gun, but tab does look better on my MC outfit. And can somone tell me if it its hard the upgrade the gearbox of the TM, i mean the disamble and reassamble the gun and gearbox because there is a recoil shock system on it ? Richard Y
harder than the m4 but easier than the ak... The colour difference is barely noticable in person, its a great looking gun in tan.
Kalmar
So is there any way to fix this? My mag release button is also broken, any way to get replacement parts without buying a whole new gun?
AnakChan
Wow, what did you do!? Drop your SCAR?
Kalmar
I wish, at least then I could understand how it broke. I noticed this crack today after installing a new Eagle6 spring and screwing the pistol grip back on - Had not even shot it yet... (There's another small fracture just in front of the grip on the lower receiver.)
Richard Y
Ive noticed "cracked grip" on tm sopmods before, i wish i could explain it too.. in the exact same position. Just find another Scar grip. There has to be someout there for other scars.
Kalmar
Are the pistol grips on the SCAR the same as for the SOPMOD? I also found a replacement bolt catch, so hopefully I'll be back in operation soon.
PianoBlack
I was browsing EHA and saw that there's an airsoft version of the Tango Down SCAR Rail Extension. Now I'm seriously considering this or the VFC L. -Piano
EpiX
Are all scars from tm with a recoil system?(the weight that goes forward en backwards) Or do some have only the ebb? I'm planning to spend some money after christmas and i wanne be sure cause i want an allround recoil rifle
stewpidbear
Only one type of Scar from TM, choices are/will be L, H, CQC, Black or Tan. But they are all basically the same recoil/ebb system.
EpiX
how about the inner barrel? is there a difference in length between the cqc and the full length scar? thx
