Imperator
Terrible lighting today so I had to resort to an on board flash for now... G3a1.... with wood furniture That's a G3A3, actually. Nice one, nontheless! "(...)The G3A1 has a folding stock that hinges to the left and a flip over rear sight.(...)" from: http://www.hkpro.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=87:the-grandfather-g3&catid=8:the-automatic-rifles&Itemid=
frogfish
G3a1 is the SADF and Rhodesian nomenclature for the weapon, the a3 came with a plastic stock and the plastic triangular fore grip, a4 a telescopic stock. The A1 was with original variant purchased in the early 60s, and the a2 was the variant with green jungle furniture, however; the sight is incorrect for the a1 by their nomenclature, it did have the flip up rather than the diopter.. The A1 was with original variant purchased in the early 60s, and the a2 was the variant with green jungle furniture, however; the sight is incorrect for the a1 by their nomenclature, it did have the flip up rather than the diopter.. Don't really know anything about Rhodesian or SADF nomenclatures... I was refering to H&K official nomenclature. The A1 had a folding stock and flip rear sight, as said. The A3, originally (as in the Portuguese armed forces in earlly 60's in Angola) came with wood hand-guard and stock, and later on with bakelite green hand-guard and stock. The triangular hand-guard is a modernized version, but it is still an A3. In official nomenclature. Bottom line, teh "A" changes when refering to the combination of stock/rear sight: A1 - folding stock/flip-up sight A2 - folding stock/diopter (drum sight) A3 - fixed stock (wood or bakelite)/diopter A4 - retractable stock/dioper. Again, in official H&K nomenclature.

emp3ror86
Wow, I built a similar gun once. It could be in the Geard of War.
hawaiianjuggernaut
It can really be tacticooled out Surefire and AFG makes for a deadly CQB combo. Though, to be honest, I like the simple look with just an optic on it.
notrabies
I like it, but I think you should get some kind of crazy futuristic stock and light/laser and then star in an 80's movie
Darkmikey22
stock wise I think the new ics mx5 special folding stock may look funky on it! and possibly the ics grip suit too. Edited June 12, 2013 by Darkmikey22
LboroSlider
Here's my contribution to the HK line up. TM G3 SG1 This is still with a plastic body though, I'm hoping to find a CA metal body to complete the look.

Powerslave
Here is my MSG90 build version 2.0. Still needs a sniper style grip and possibly a different scope accompanied by a cheekpad. Also you can see evidence of the easy mod to fit a PSG1 upper receiver to a G3 lower receiver. I'm very pleased with it. Rogue845
This thread could do with some more XM8. All three are SRC. The painted one is Gen 2 and is my test bed for whatever I'm gonna do to the rest. The other two are Gen 3.
-Drake-
Yes YES YESSS !! Love the XM8, I wish someone made all of the variants =[
Rogue845
I've got something I could use as a barrel extension, with a couple of other bits I could easily rig up the LMG and DMR variants.
Hopna
Always nice to see an XM8 for a change. Despite the fact that the whole XM8 project was cancelled, I've always thought it's a very interesting weapon. If only someone made a real polymer GBBR version
