seagullman
I've got a better top cover on the way, but I might just go full Khyber Pass and make one out of steel. guarder/lct?

PianoBlack
LCT AK104 w/ Midwest Industries Universal Handguard and T1 Clone I'm awaiting the parts to convert this to a Staiga 12K, but the parts haven't arrived so I figured I'd use the rail from my upcoming AIMS build as the plastic "tactical" hand-guards that came with it were upper . Vila
Oh do want! How does it perform? Oh, and what is it based off of?
wolfgeorge
Actually I got it today but I didn't find the time to shoot it. It's based on the G&P GBB SVD, Escort swapped all the internals and add an adjustable ho up. I prefer the finish on this than the RS SVD V2, I haven't seen a V1 but the matt finish is no match to the glossy on this babe. Even though supposedly G&P and RS are based on an NDM-86, the real steel POSP I have on the RS SVD needs to be readjusted in order to fit on the Escort. Wolf
PureSilver
I'm loving these forward T1s, very Scout rifle. Is the scope really any good with that kind of eye relief? If it weren't for the FSB I'd be tempted to try the same thing on one of my Armalites. Also, wolfgeorge, who made the Escort? Is it a factory job, or a customer conversion? RacingManiac
Its just a dot sight, so as long as you can see the dot it doesn't really matter where it sits. On AK with the rear sight so far forward anyway, you are not changing much in the way of using the rifle... I like the ability to cowitness the iron so I won't run a riser, but with a PEQ thats not a bad way to go... I'm loving these forward T1s, very Scout rifle. Is the scope really any good with that kind of eye relief?
Katotaka
T1 in the far forward position, the T1's body in the sight picture become VERY SMALL, thus giving you a VERY clean sight picture. And as long as you shoulder your weapon correctly and aligns your eye to the sight well enough, this setup will let you aim very quickly.
renegadecow
Uzi kicked the bucket again so I had to take this down the rack for the time being. I guess it's more appropriate for the STALKER loadout I've been using lately.

PianoBlack
If I swap out the upper rail for the T1-specific model, I can actually have a lower 1/3 cowitness. -Piano
renegadecow
Adapter was relatively easy to make. The hard part was modding the magazines significantly in order to make them fit without having to move the hop unit forward. In hind sight I should have just kept the mags near stock with only a hole at the back for the catch, moved the hop forward and installed a longer nozzle.

BigBabyMoses06
Picking this up today with a pack of mag plums. Steel Dboy AK74U. Not sure what I will do with it. Likely get some black furniture as I was never a fan of the wood, and some long mags. Id like a T1 on top, or some open reflex. Eventually replace the front end with a mid length. kojak
Where did you pick up the polymer furniture RPK? The only ones I could find in the states include the Echo1 idiot tax. Added an Element grip, Dboys top cover and upper handguard, and stained some Cyma RPK midcaps.
