WaterWar
Isn't it a bit difficult to use that sight as a leftie? It looks good though. What brand is that AK?
aznriptide859
That is oh so nice sigma. Reworked my MIAD for my MAG-KU. It's now about 6-7mm wider since it's now molded over a G36 motor cage. There's one issue - the only way I found to fully secure it to the gearbox is via an external screw. Is the MIAD worth keeping for this bit of external "mishap"?
sigma3
Isn't it a bit difficult to use that sight as a leftie? It looks good though. What brand is that AK? Haha, it's practically impossible! Fortunately that's not me in the photo – I'm a righty. However, being that this is airsoft, I rarely use the sight to actually shoot... it's mostly intended as a spotting/ranging scope. And because it's pretty. Edit: the gun's a CYMA CM048 Edited May 16, 2011 by sigma3
adadqgg
as cool as this....... Tactical AK - done CORRECTLY. All people who slaps rail onto ak need to learn a lesson from this. The AK is 95% done now. Very happy with it overall. When the enemy armoured vehicle approaches; hold it over your shoulder and they should run away. Worked at EastWind. adadqgg
Haha, that's pretty funny. What range? Russian Section 2 actually used a nightvision scope mounted on an AKM at about 200m apparently. Read all about it, and more, in Devil Doc's(fearless leader of Section 2) EW IV AAR: http://www.operationeastwind.com/forum/index.php?topic=1294.0 Edited May 17, 2011 by adadqgg

sigma3
Oh I know. It's a great field. So many rocks to climb, little caves to set up ambushes... it's awesome.

Zombie00
That is - almost - exactly what I wanted to do with a type 56-2. All I'd change about it is the grip (swap it for an M60), the muzzle-break, the selector switch (tactical FTW) and, if possible, drop one of those sexy-looking Russian butt-stock pads. And maybe, just maybe, paint all the polymer bits and pieces in plum. Lovely gun nevertheless.
yuanshi23
Anyone know the best way to stain/paint hard plastic like the handguards and stock plastic on the Type 56-2? I've been wanting to paint the real stock plastic dark/wood brown for the longest time.

I've been wanting to paint the real stock plastic dark/wood brown for the longest time. Boil water; add dye; put in nylon furniture and hold it by parts not visible when installed(try keeping them on a hook or something) and remove every 5-10 seconds to check the color and prevent melting. yuanshi23
Thanks! Will be sure to check that.

[NL]Infinity
@ Azn: Little late, but I'd ditch the miad, the filler doesnt do it any good The gun would still have enough modern furniture on it to balance it out, imo Edited May 24, 2011 by [NL]Infinity
aznriptide859
I ditched it in favor of a SAW grip. On a side note, does anyone know how to fix AK mag wobble? My Beta-P mags wobble like a mofo in this AK.
crackisbad
I know the only real change from the pic you posted in the Magpul thread is the SAW grip, but I seem to like it more
mightyjebus
nice work! You spent a lot of time on the rear of the gun and I think the front lets it down slightly. If it was mine I would go for the miad grip you made, change the RDS with a C-more sight and change the flash hider for a tan sound hog. but thats just me.
kojak
Has anyone seen this stock adapter before? It looks like it might fit my Cyma AK104--then it's folding UBR time.
aznriptide859
The RDS will be swapped anyways - I can't decide what though, the MRDS is way too high.
kojak
The RDS will be swapped anyways - I can't decide what though, the MRDS is way too high. Sell it to me and buy a T-1; I think the stock aimpoint mount is the lowest you can get an RDS.
