Manxmadman
Got into the AK world with a TM AKS74U. Snapped two stock catches in two games (I'm not sure what they're made of should even qualify as metal) so got a team mate to fit an M4 stock tube (using metal resin, a bolt through the stock mounting block on the rear of the receiver, screwing into a steel washer inside the stock). Chucked on a CTR clone stock, Nitro Vo/Laylax rail, BCM Gunfighter grip and Shield CQS micro dot. Finished off with some khaki and OD krylon. Manxmadman
Top section/rail just comes off, depress a spring loaded nub that holds it in and lift straight out. Battery changes are pretty quick if you had to do it in field or something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Manxmadman
As the battery is in the foregrip, you'd still be able to get the top rail (not top cover) off without any issue with side mount (which you'd have to tap the TM receiver to fit). Roland1014
I still think modifying the receiver like that to fit the cover is ugly as *suitcase*.

Isamu
Hey guys, made a mistake and bought an asura dynamics RPK lower handguard instead an AK one, derp, now the AK handguard retainer won't fit into the asura rail... do you think buying a RPK handguard retainer will let me use th zenit rail in the AK? BTW, the Ak is a cyma cm048 AKM
GRIM!
Parts for new GHK build. All real steel Zastava M70AB2 parts. (Forgot the gasblock and rearsight in the pic.) Got the gun complete at my vacation but had to strip it down to send all but receiver, bolt and barrel due to swedish laws. Heres a vid before it was stripped down. titchikov
Holy Jesus that's incredible. How did you do the weathering?
Alumyx
- Step 1 : sandblasting all the gun : naked steel is mandatory - Step 2 : saltwater spray during one full month - Step 3 : one more month in the wet and hot hongkong weather - Step 4 : fully recover the rust with mineral oil - Step 5 : using a blowlamp, burn all the gun until the rust fall down and the steel turn to black color. - Step 6 : using a grinder, wreck plastic parts - Step 7 : using the blowlamp again, partialy burn plastic parts (grip and magazines) - Step 8 : using a brass brush, clean as much as possible all the parts- Step 9 : using silicon spray and a rag, finish to clean - Step 10 : re-assembly the gun with gearbox, hopup and inner barrel ! Enjoy !
NonEx
I usually like my guns looking "new" but that is very cool. Nice job man!

sigma3
Good stuff. I should post an updated pic of my AK74M with authentic real rust damage as a result of being abandoned at a game in the pouring rain and left in a damp rifle case for a month. The sling was 100% white mold when I took it out.
Roecar
O that game was fun indeed. BFAs in the rain are awesome!

mightyjebus
nice..but more importantly where did you get the custom G3 Partizan trousers?
renegadecow
More on rust, if you don't want to spend months waiting, you can use rust promoters (plenty of tutorials online, but basically it's vinegar + salt + bleach or peroxide) which shortens it to mere hours.
