kojak
Maybe try the S-Thunder mini Shocker rounds? If your trigger mech can handle the pressure, the extra bang of CO2 is very satisfying.
renegadecow
I'd need to make some alterations to feed those. I made the chamber to catch the nade by the top of the case using a collar and those look like they have the case portion made shorter. Right now it would probably sit too deep in the chamber and won't meet the plunger trigger. And I'm done with the magazine spring, follower and end cap btw. Next, making it go boom! judgeman
Which is ironic, because the real one had issues feeding anything but your bog-standard sized 40mm's lol. Feel the realism.
ninja master of coffee
Probably just something fundamental to making a pump action 40mm, I guess 12guage shotgun shells have less variation in length so those kinds of issues present themselves less frequently, I get the impression I'm just going to stare at the finished product and go "woah.... that is SO COOL!!" for a fairly long time. aznriptide859
LOL....shoelace.
renegadecow
No, not a shoelace. Wouldn't want to make it a grenade launcher machine gun now, do we?
hitmanNo2
Yes. The answer to that question is always yes. ATF be damned
kojak
Why hasn't the ATF tried to put a real HE 40mm in a G&P launcher yet? If I haven't said so yet, incredible job. Frankly, if you had just made a breachloading single shot that looked this much like a China Lake it would have been pretty cool.
renegadecow
Oh yeah! No, it no go boom yet.
pkm200901
i love you.
renegadecow
NOW it go boom. Expect smooth sailing from here on.
Gooberz
Lookin' good! Are you going to do an actual wood stock, or pvc?
renegadecow
Will be wood, for both full stock and sawed-off pistol grip. Not solid though as I'll be damned if I try to work at a chunk of dead tree that size. I'll be using 3/4" planks (2-3 layers), cut out the shape, glue together then carve edges. blablabla
I swear to the Almighty that this is the most awesome custom airsoft job that has ever existed...
Bachelarius
I have got to learn to work PVC... you get such fantastic results from it! What can I say, thanks for documenting it all! it really is appreciated by us lurkers
uscmCorps
NOW it go boom. Expect smooth sailing from here on. Looking good. So what happened with the last round? Did the round head from the second shell detonate the third shell while still in the magazine tube? Or did the third shell have a leaky valve? Looks like you can hold 3+1, or 3+2 if you can ghost load it. That's pretty bad *albatross*!
Murdoc
That's great!!! One of the best 'jobs' here! Would be less authentic but more skirmishable if it could store 3 'used' grenades in the woodstock instead drooping the off... don't know if it's possible or not.
WhiteHawksan
I too am interested there, did the nose of the second shell fire the 3rd in the tube or did the 3rd shell just fail to fire/fire itself first? Your work never ceases to amaze, pure awesomage.
renegadecow
Thanks guys! The last shell I believe blew up after the first shells ejection, which is when the two shells in the tube move backwards. Shell 2 goes into the lifter and because of the odd angle, presents a part of the rounded tip right where the next nades button sits. That coupled by the fact that the last shells button was sticking out to begin with. Tried grinding down the button and it worked. To make a skirmish friendly China Lake, one would have to get rid of the shells altogether. I had an idea to copy the Marushin M500 before, only the bb/gas capacity is greatly increased plus a larger rotating chamber will hold 8-10 bbs at a time instead of 5. So in effect, just a jumbo sized shotgun. I figured flying shells are more fun.
vorpalbunnie
Honestly, i'd slap a shell catcher on and use it just like my CAW revolver launcher. Skirmishable as it is!
renegadecow
LOL! Mental image of a "shell catcher" for a revolver launcher.
bankz5152
hahhahaha. Though exellent work dude, seriously its amazing.
uscmCorps
For a truly skirmishable piece I would consider gutting a TM M3 Super 90 internals, installing a TM M3 shotgun shell into a 40mm donor grenade and run with that. But that just won't be as much fun as what you've create there.
renegadecow
TM M3 Super 90 internals Heck, you could probably stuff in two of them side-by-side if you strip them down to the essentials.
ninja master of coffee
This is still better, because it takes airsoft ridiculosity to the max. I think making it more practical and skirmishable would have missed the point, this just wins.
