beta08
As far as I know it stands for "identification, friend or foe", which usually consists of an infrared emitting or reflecting device such as flags, strobes or chemlights. frogfish
Its MK18 party time! Â Civillians can buy lightsticks, even IR ones, I happen to have casses of lightsticks given to me from a freind while a unit in VB was cleaning out some storage and was going to throw them away. hwagan
Its MK18 party time!   And now here's a gatecrasher  Went to Wolf Armouries today, and as well as a nice Gerber knife, I finally picked up a suitably light/low profile light mount, as well as another set of the unbelievably good quality ACM ARMS 71LR's - I figured seeing as they're plastic they'll save another gnat's *badger* worth of weight now the light is on there.  Also, many moons ago I chopped up a KA silencer to make my old CA Scar look cool; I randomly found the offcut, and discovered it's the perfect length/size to give me the intergrally suppressed look I've been after without adding significant weight or length.  I really am pretty sure this is the final, be all and end all setup of my M4. It's taken 6 rails, 4 pistol grips, several vertical grips, several optics, several different types of BUIS and plenty of other bits to finally get to a gun that fits me like an absolute glove in every possible respect. I call it The Hwagan Cannon. Better pictures when I get some better light...    Edited August 25, 2012 by hwagan
Leon Kennedy
I really am pretty sure this is the final, be all and end all setup of my M4. Â Oh, my *albatross*. I'll give it two months before it changes.
bobthebuilder
Oh okay. Can civilians buy those or are those still military only things? Â Lightsticks? Standard glowsticks that give off visable light are very easily available from your local outdoors shop, and look pretty much the same. If you want proper Infa-Red (IR) lighsticks they are a little harder to find. They are out there, but there isn't really a civilian market for them (they only work with night vision gear). They are not restricted, just hard to find.
hwagan
Oh, my *albatross*. I'll give it two months before it changes. Â Â Give it two months and I'll have a Bomber MRP to go through the same process with instead
kojak
There are replica IR glowsticks out there.

Stress
lol, what?  -Ex  Yeah wrong RISII length should be 9.5 inch with a 10.3in barrel(?).  yeah I know is shorter than a standard mk18 ris, but is a choice for cqb games. but i see no reason for loling, honestly.

Don't list it as an MK18 Mod 1 when it clearly is not, please.  -Ex

TheFull9
Noveske is really Stickman! I thought it was suspicious how I never saw them both in the same room.
cazboab
Â Â Don't list it as an MK18 Mod 1 when it clearly is not, please. Â -Ex Well if G&P call the gun he started out with a Mk18, no mater what he changes, the base gun is still a G&P mk18.
Noveske
Here's my brother's KA Larue SBR which I custom built for him. Custom painted FDE and I attempted to make the upper more like the "Stealth" receiver (note the shell deflector), but was kind of a fail LOL. He still loves it though haha. emp3ror86
Kunlun, which is that flashlight mount on your gun? Edited August 28, 2012 by emp3ror86
Blackjack13
HSP Thorntail. Element make a replica of it (already) too.
Ivan le Fou
This mount is nice, but you are very limited in term of installation since it has to be put close to the front of the gun.
Kunlun
Kunlun, which is that flashlight mount on your gun? Â As Blackjack13 mentioned it is a Element replica of the HSP Thorntail. Â Â @ Ivan: I would consider it as an advantage instead of a disadvantage. The whole purpose of this mount is to maintain a light and low-profile with a minimum of rail space needed.
Ivan le Fou
I totally agree with that. Â But the thing is when you have a long handguard (in my case Larue 12") and if you are not very found of the "tactical Costa" stance, it becomes annoying.
